OSRAM LED Lightify Classic A60 RGB & White Bulb - Hue Compatible £15.50 @ Tesco DIrect

This is a 60W equivalent LED light bulb which is Philips Hue compatible. You get full RGB colour control and adjustable colour temperature.

It is currently half price on Tesco direct online and in-store. Much cheaper that the Hue bulbs from Philips.

You will need a bridge/gateway device with this bulb to control it from your phone.

Depending on what ecosystem you want to stick to, you can either buy the Osram gateway which is also currently half price:

Or you can get a first generation Philips hue bridge from Ebay for about £15 to £20.

This is also compatible with Samsung SmartThings without the need for the OSRAM gateway.

However, I would recommend purchasing the gateway even if you're going to use this with Hue or SmartThings as the firmware on the bulbs out-the-box has some known issues (such as not retaining the last configuration after hard power down and power up), and the only way to upgrade the bulb firmware is through the OSRAM gateway.

This is a good price by the way, they have recently been this price (lowest ever) on Amazon also, but recently went out of stock.

You'll probably need to change your light fittings or purchase converters as these bulbs are E27 fitting and most UK fittings use the bayonet (B22) type.
So if I have a 1st gen Hue hub I can simply add these to my existing set up and control them via the Hue app as normal?
Procrastinated and now they're gone. The bridge is still available
It may be of interest to know that these bulbs are on Amazon for £15.50, out of stock, but still orderable
These are not very good with the Philips Hue system, very un responsive and quite disappointing compared to the Philips ones. Mine also seem to turn themselves on for no reason.
Mine work very well with Hue
