Oh god I've fallen down the rabbit hole of looking at phones on GearBest. I'm try to keep sane until the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S comes out.

Anyway this one looks like a steal! 4gb RAM for this price is pretty much unheard of. Not the best CPU ever but adequate. Good size battery. Have had oukitel before and decent build quality.

If it wasn't for the chinese phones, we would be stuck with overpriced phones. I'm glad these exist and stop people being ripped off.

Seems alot of phone for the money
There must be a catch? Just watched a video review and can't really see one. Yes, the Samsung flagships of the world are better in almost ever feature but are they really 9 - 10 times better since that is the price difference?
The processor isn't the best but other than that it's a bargain.

Amazing for the price.Hot.
The processor is perfectly capable of everything barring the top end games. These still play but have lower frame rates or random stutter. Yes it takes 1 or 2 seconds to open an app compared to "flagship" phones, but you're talking atleast 5th of the price here.
The processor is based on 28nm technology. Sorry, not for me.
Noticed the specs didnt mention e-compass, if you spin around, maps does not do the same.
Anyone any experience with this brand?

I managed to catch the Oukitel k5000 £77 deal from Amazon that was posted on here the other day (but deleted quite quickly).

It's being delivered Monday, not sure if I have to try and get rid of any spyware or anything but for the money I couldn't leave it!
This or a Xiaomi Note 4 for my Dad? The Note 4 is a tad more expensive but apart from that, I'm struggling for a reason not to snap this up

Heated OP!
Ahh, accessories or branded lack of's... nothing from the 'big' Chinese brands; Nillin, Mofi etc. Could be an issue?

Also, I think this model is a few pence cheaper at Aliexpress if that's more your thing? Which it is for me

I got that deal for £75. Got it yesterday, feels solid. Pretty much the same as this phone but 720p screen. With amazon customer service, the k5000 is better deal
Do they have fast charge?

I went for the k3, hoping the duel camera is ok. For the money I guess shouldn't expect too much. Kasperspy should find any spyware.
My oukitell lasted 6 months. Better stick with xaiomi - much better phones in my experience

Durability & camera(s) are usually the main concerns with these lesser-known Chinese brands. That's why smart buyers are willing to pay the extra for much better & well-known brands like Xiaomi & Huawei.
Typing this message from an Oukitel C8. Purchased it for
thirty pounds back in October, HUKD Gearbest European warehouse. Nice quality build, very reliable and hold's a good two day charge, no gaming though. So far l am more than happy with my Oukitel.

Same. No issues with C8. Decent build. This one should be a very decent phone looking at the spec. OK its a MediTek processor but for £89 its a steal. Totally agree with pjazzys comment. Thank god for these Chinese phones.
On rereading specs:
Non removable 3700mA battery, 2sim plus microsd slot. No e-compass.
XDA Developers seems sparse on this model and didnt see any custom roms. Anyone know otherwise, pls correct.
Is OEM updating firmware?
I've bought 3 items from Gearbest in the last couple of months and none have ever arrived.

We aren't being ripped off but all the Chinese workers are - whatever phone we buy sadly. But hot from me. Looks a great spec and I'm never wasting my money on an iPhone again.

And what does that mean in English, for the non-geek?!

And what does that mean in English, for the non-geek?!

It means ancient.
28nm means 28 nano meter.
The smaller this figure, the more one can squeeze onto chip and more economical to run. Also more expensive to make. Chip will be smaller.

Eg Qualcomm 400 in Motorola G 4G is 28nm.
Qualcomm 625 in Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Global Version is made in 14nm.
Mediatek 660 is using 12nm.
Qualcomm 845 in high end mobile is made in 10nm.

The latest is a fabrication plant producing 7nm chips. There is also the yield (percentage of naff units and difference with experimental results and full production)

Bought loads of stuff from Gearbest. All arrived eventually. Some took so long I had forgotten I had ordered them Worth the wait in most cases

How you getting on with it?

Mines having to go back, the rear camera is faulty. I've tried most of the fixes available online and none of them work.

Also, to say it has such a big battery, I was a bit disappointed as it only just about lasted the day with moderate use and I found the phone got really hot during screen-on time. I don't know if that's normal or I got a dodgy one.

Would have like to have tried another one before I got a refund but Amazon don't offer exchanges for 3rd party sellers so it's back to the drawing board.

The only issue I’ve had has been the finger print. It fails to unlock most of the time. In terms of battery, I get around a day and a half. I haven’t had much use of the camera. But I’ll keep an eye on it now and use it more. I guess that’s the benefit of amazon, no fear of returning faulty phone.

Yeah at least I can get my money back like you say, just a shame it's double the price now as I quite liked the feel/look of it and it was a bargain at £75. If it was still that price, I'd have given it another go!

Hope it serves you well

Fingerprint doesn't work on my k3 either, shame because everything else seems pretty good for the money. Camera isn't too bad, bit of noise if you zoom in but shots come out quite good with nice colours.
Batteries take a number of charges to reach optimum performance so you will see improvement.

I've just acquired the K3 but quickly gave up on the fingerprint scanner as I never seem to attack it from the same angle twice.

Interesting observation about the battery, as it's the first phone I've owned that has one built-in but early signs look promising. Having said that, I thought the same about my Cubot Max 4000 mAh batteries until I added 200+ apps and a smart watch. Now I only get 6-8 hours from them. If I can get over 50% more from the K3 battery, I'll be quite impressed.

I’d be careful of GearBest m8 brought k10 from them and month down line it died on them made a PayPal claim which they didt like and offered him £18 back for a £200 phone. Played Pressure game which they gave in to
