Sounds interesting....
Settled in the town of Forthaven on Carpathia, the Outcasts are passionate about their jobs, confident of their ideals and optimistic about the future. They work hard to preserve what they've built on this planet they now call home, having embraced all the challenges that come with forging a new beginning.

They are led by President Tate and his core team of Stella, Cass and Fleur – they took charge and settled here first alongside Expeditionaries Mitchell and Jack.

The planet offers the possibility for both corruption and redemption; while they try to avoid the mistakes made on Earth, inevitably our heroes cannot escape the human pitfalls of love, greed, lust, loss, and a longing for those they've left behind.

As they continue to work and live together they come to realise this is no ordinary planet... is there a bigger purpose at work? Mystery lurks around them and threatens to risk the fragile peace of Forthaven

Might sound interesting.

Watching it certainly isn't.

Agreed and worth noting that it ends on a cliffhanger and BBC has since confirmed that it has been cancelled so you'll not get a proper conclusion.

Why do the BBC struggle to make intelligent science fiction these days...

I was really enjoying this series, sheldococo just ruined my day typical beeb though:(

I love Scifi but struggled to watch this one, even Dr who is better than this.

Rather than buying this you can do what I did and watch it on iplayer.

Good idea, poorly executed.Every episode, whatever the plot, seemed to turn into those too dull police people walking around looking lost.

Why do the BBC struggle to make intelligent science fiction these days...

Three reasons -

Because the BBC dont really like Science Fiction.

Also todays audiences havent got the patience for intelligent science fiction, if its not a talent show/soap/lets look at houses show then they really are not bothered.

Finally, science fiction television is expensive to make. Its too financially risky.

Ah nuts, didn't know it had been cancelled, it was ok.....at best. Had a bit of promise, better than some of the sci-fi guff the beeb has served up but still average at best... Was hoping a second series would pop up just so they could try and make a go of a sci-fi show for once, don't think i will bother watching any more from the beeb as they really can't get past season 1...

Its bad enough we've already paid once for this, against our will, with the licence fee. If we then purchase again voluntarily, more fool us!

Those if we where to look at any series that starts off, generally the first couple of episode are good, and then it tailors off to some what average. A good example of this is the Star Trek series. Can you honeslty say that Next Gen, DS9, Voyager etc where any good until they hit the thrid season. Charcters develop, situations happen and conflict occurs. Unfourteenly if we was togo straight into action, it wouldnt last long, and we complain of the complexty of whole situation, and where did that come from?

this was crap real let down, as for another cancelled bbc cock up, just following in the recent tracks of survivors which I really enjoyed even though that could have been better

Major yawn. " Even Dr Who is better". LOL.

Surprised an Sf fan like me stayed thru 4 1/2 episodes. Now, sleepy time.
