Unfortunately it doesn't look as if these will be available until next Monday (19th Nov.)... shame.

Look interesting though!

Can you explain how these work please? Sorry to be thick

splash proof does not mean waterproof. I wouldn't trust these with my garden lights etc. Ok if your have somewhere very dry to put these. We bought one for the outdoor last year and it cost about £30.00 and is waterproof.

Yes, I know... but it was only in small letters! :-D

Surely these are only Splash-proof when nothing is plugged in to them:whistling: this defeats the purpose somewhat:giggle:

This is NOT for outdoor use, The covers are just to stop children sticking there fingers in

You plug the remote socket into your existing outlet, and then you plug your device (lamp, stereo etc) into the socket. Once the socket has been paired with the remote control, you will then be able to turn the device on and off from the comfort of your chair.

I just bought a set of 3 from b&q (£20) and they are fantastic. I much prefer to light my lounge with lamps rather than a ceiling light, and these save the hassle of going to each individual lamp.

On th b&q ones you can turn all off at the same time or each individually. Not sure if these ones will have the same feature, but a very useful gadget in any case.

It's a pity they don't show the IP rating. Normally the IP rating is not compromised if plugs are inserted, but looking at these sockets I don't think they'd even be splash proof with a plug inserted.

As the previous poster said though, they be great for switching lamps on and off inside the house. I might just buy a set.

(You beat me to it biffer)
If they are certified for outdoors then they'll have an 'IP' rating on them, i wouldn't be plugging anything into them outside if the IP rating was anything less IP57.

(IP - Ingress Protection)
