These should only be mounted directly into the sight of on coming cars to ensure blinding them or pointing high up at other houses ensuring optimal irritation for as many neighbours as possible - at least I assume that's the rules because that's what seems to happen a lot

Anyhoo, have a dollop of heat for the deal

but , just swapped one for an led one (30W)

the original bulb blew, couldn't reach it without a ladder, so thought better to just fit an led one that should last much longer and save some money in the long run

A better idea is to buy an LED one, as they will use ten times less electricity and the bulbs will last much longer. Get one with a solar panel and it won't even need to be connected to the mains.

But it won't work at night ??

Something with plenty of LEDs like this maybe? amazon.co.uk/Sun…0LO

Ordered one yesterday. I didn't realise it was such a good deal! Nice when that happens.

I would personally spend a bit more and get an LED. I purchased two some time ago and still going strong.

Ta!

Lidl have one from the 18th August. £29.99 or two for £50.00
Mains-free, environmentally friendly outdoor light with 80 bright, long-life LEDs and motion detector
Solar panel with connection cable, length approx. (m): 4.75
Motion sensor detection angle (°): 180
Lighting duration in motion detection mode adjustable to (seconds): 60
Detection range approx. (m): 12
3 year manufacturer's warranty
Buy 2 for £50

I had two of these installed less than a year ago and both of the sensors have failed.

I'll be replacing them with a LED replacement

I've also had the PIR's go faulty on security lights as well, that's what's putting me off buying the £25+ led versions, even though I'd really prefer to go down that route :-\

I was interested in some of the LED comments so looked at retrofitting these with an LED. Has anyone done this?
Example bulb: amazon.co.uk/Rep…1-1
I don't know if this is the right bulb but likely similar.
Cheap way to get an outdoor LED (mains powered) security light unless I'm missing something [upward inflection]

Edit: just seen AzeemB comment so looks like a goer.
