If its the same one I got its open at both ends, making the silver foil a bit redundant for keeping heat in. Luckily I've never needed it, but when hiking I make sure I have at least the smaller foil blanket packed (which poundland also sell: http://www.poundland.co.uk/product-range/a-z/outdoor-solutions-twin-pack-emergency-blankets/). They aren't the ones I have, mine were from a surplus store and I paid a bit more!

i will be up K2 with a couple of these come the summer........Cheers OP

Great for your BOB

£1 junk from Poundland.......doesn't exactly install a great deal of faith and certainly not something I'd ever consider packing as an emergency anything, except firelighter!!

Its not junk if it works though, and if you did get caught out then this would be better than none at all.

My thought exactly, tfish. Bought some useful stuff from £ shops.

Nice buy!

Cracking deal I was thinking, Disposable Tent for the Kids, just £1, fantastic! I will have a box full, that should keep the kids busy for days.

rubbish like this shouldn't be allowed

Perfect for the Euro 2012

Looks like it will line my grill pan thirty times over...

Compared to tin-foil, this is a good deal for catching the Fat..

Thanks OP..

Dripping Heat added.

They also have these at Poundworld - I bought one as a den for the kids

So what?

Spacemen have these as a holiday home.

Ok for one-time use only, as they rip very easily I found.
Being wide-open at both ends; and extremely lightweight also, means it flies about like it's haunted!
Not actually useful...

Could you use these opened up to insulate a tent?

I bought one in anticipation of the next fancy-dress occasion my Children's school spring upon me at a moments notice! Perfect for last minute Astronauts!

Does it block wifi?

cheaper at pondland

Wow a £1 excellent

Can you live in these full time?

I couldn't get a mortgage for the one I wanted.

An afternoons entertainment for the kids in the garden for a quid!! Their very own tent!!! I would have loved one of these as a kid even if for one day!!!

i know its open at both ends but i guess thats because its being used sideways I.E. the 3 sides are each 5 foot by 3 2/3 foot. would it not be better to use it as a blanket wrapper around you?5 foot go arround you & the 8 foot to give you some space around your head

You'll need to assemble between two trees to hang string/rope between to drape this over/ through, otherwise they'll be pretty disappointed when it becomes a blanket.

"Not fireproof. Keep away from naked flames."

I must remember to pack my electric blanket then for those cold winter nights in the countryside when I unexpectedly find myself needing a £1 survival tent on an open mountain hillside with two trees spaced 8 metres apart to hang the rope between with perfect ground underneath and no uncomfortable tree roots to lie on. Oh, I must not forget the 50 mile extension lead I'll need to connect it to the nearest plug socket either.

Proper hikers tent/ blankets/ clothing / kit and a bit of common sense planning, who needs those? I've got my £1 survival tent I'll carry everywhere just in case.

Wimps.

I saw John Rambo queuing up to get one of these so it must be worth getting if you like spending time in the woods

Not much use as a shelter but has possibilities just as a cheap source of shiny metalised plastic sheeting

Ray Mears eat your heart out!

Cold. Cheaper at the 99p store. (_;)

bought 2 to cut open and insulate my tent

great for the tennis at wimbledon

maybe buying a decent tent in the first place would have been easier.

How do you plan on insulating a tent with this rubbish and if you manage it how do you intend to deal with the condensation?

Voted hot to annoy the pound land snobs. ;-)

come on guys see this for what it is a pound, did you really expect a durable waterproof tent for a quid ! LOL.

I've got 2 young boys 10 and 11 and they will get hours of fun in the garden with this (will cost me more to park for 30 mins to go and buy it)

I did see it for what it is, a piece of rubbish claiming to be a piece of safety equipment. The fact that you see it fit for kids to play with confirms this.

Would you send them up a mountain with it - not likely I would hope.

He said garden, not mountain. Jesus, some people need to lighten up. No wonder teenagers are such tools nowadays, they get so wrapped up in cotton wool as kids they get confiused when they meet the real world.

This is better than not having anything if you get caught short, but its better as a spaceman playtent.

I did buy a decent tent but its a 4 man tent so if im on my own it needs something on the ground to try and stop some cold getting through so laying these down under the bedding will help
