Not interested in buying from a South African eshop as I'm too lazy to go down the account creating route...
But this sounds like a great deal

Tbh I'd be much more inclined to buy this if it had a physical... And I mean an actual physical
Not pulling a Bayonetta and make one physical, one digital... Total rubbish
Gonna finally sign up for revolut - this is too good to miss

You don't need to create another account for each region, you just need to change your region on your nintendo account, buy the game and change it back. Its about a 5 minute process once you get the hang of it, only negative here is that the nintendo gold points are tied to the region you purchased from, therefore can only use them from that regions eshop. other than that it's a good price!

Yeah you can I guess buy one of the £1 games to use them up if it bothers you.

But you dont get many many for £15 and you are saving almost £15

Yeah sometimes the price savings from another region far outweighs worrying about the gold points being locked.

Is this the only downside then? I'm very much considering going through the whole malarkey for this price, new switch owner so need to fill up my games library

Yeah pretty much, obviously if you purchase another game on the south african eshop within its year of expiry then you can use the points from this game to get some money off. I am thinking of getting this, but i am slightly worried that they might release it physically like sonic mania!

Huh, that's something I didn't know...
A couple of questions regarding this...
- Do you keep your purchases through the eshop on your account, or on the store
i.e, if I buy Arms on the Italian store, but then 'switch' *bad-um-tss* back to the UK store, does it show as already owned by me as a user on the UK store and/or redownloadable from the UK eshop?
Or do I have to change back to the Italian store every time to re-download?
- Is there not some kind of conversion rate fee to buying from other stores?
not bad

- Yes!
- If your payment method charges a 'foreign transaction fee'. Use a fee-free payment method
Same gold points seem to be usable on both UK and Norway eshops

Are you sure? All the points i have accrued from other regions i have purchased from have been locked to that region. For example, all of my uk purchases the points are locked to uk and cannot be used on other regions, same for example with the points accrued from a purchase on the south african eshop cannot be used on the uk eshop. If you check your nintendo account the coins are separated for each region and shown accordingly.

Whatever eshop region you purchase from it is tied to your account, therefore it will say "purchased" as its status on all the eshops for all games you have bought. Yes, you can redownload the game from the uk eshop regardless if you purchased from a different eshop. As another poster above has stated I would advise using a service that does not charge fees such as revolut which is what I use.

To use the method without creating multiple accounts for different regions, then just follow these steps;

1. Go to accounts.nintendo.com/

2. then go to user information

3.then profile

4. then change to required country/region.

5. then save.

6. Turn your switch on

7. Go to the eshop and login in and it will prompt that something has changed and then log on again and then purchase the game.

8. Once purchased go back to steps 1-5 and then change back to original country/region.

I used Revolut to pay for overseas eshop as they don't charge any fees, you just pay the exchange rate price.

I hope this makes sense.

You guys are all sexy mofo's and I love you for teaching me something new and apparently obvious to everyone else; that I didn't know.
Really am so bloody thankful all of you
Just another wee thing people haven’t mentioned: If you choose to switch (pun intended) region rather than manage multiple accounts, you’ll lose any remaining credit each time you emigrate.

With the US store in particular, I believe you’re stuck unless you a) manage to spend every last cent on your account, or b) you ask Nintendo to zero your balance.

Just checked my account on UK eshop, then switched to Norway version. Coins still there. Having said that, they disappeared when I visited the Swiss eshop. The only difference I can think of was the Swiss version changed language.

oh yes, that is true, forgot to mention this as this has never affected me yet as I haven't purchased or had any credit applied. Thanks for pointing that out.

Are they the same amount of coins or different totals?
Currently 36 uk and 37 = 3,00 kr Norway

No worries! I’m actually tempted to go down the Revolut road. Those guys seem to be doing pretty well for themselves.

Yeah so as I initially thought those gold points are what you have accrued separately for those regions and can only be applied to those regions which means you can use 36 gold coins on uk eshop and 37 gold coins on the Norwegian eshop.

I have never had a problem with them, only gripe for me is you have to topup a minimum of £10, but i guess any monies remaining can be used on future purchases.

You also lose any credit you had on the account prior to switching. Not sure if the same would then apply to gold points. It's really easy to just set up a separate account which only takes 5 minutes and then you have quick access on your switch. Each to their own though!
Ah thanks for the heads up - was going to wait for the price drop but this is too good top miss. I already have a separate account for the US, but as part of this, managed to setup the Revolut account - seems useful. Thanks for the post
Ive made a account with revolut and added £15 to my revolut account but how do I actually buy the game as there is no account number or sort code for my virtual card otherwise once its sorted this is a utter steal!

Did you apply for a virtual card or a physical card? If virtual you will need to login to the revolut app and select cards and the details are there.

I know its annoying im actually double dipping with sonic mania.
How I looked at it was that if outlast 2 is going to get a physical release it will most likley be £30 as its £28 on eshop. If they release a physical Outlast trinity including the first game it will likley be £40-£50, and a chance one of the games might still be a download. So £15 to play now digital swayed it for me.
