**Edit** I've just been informed that whilst the manual cars are technically no longer available to order from BMW, there are still a number in stock with manual gearboxes so the listing is correct. Should you prefer an auto, the link is 1stchoicevehicleleasing.co.uk/out…621

Personally, I think this car was MADE for a manual, but that's just me 😋

Main info:

Price - £27461.25 (inc VAT)

Saving (from list) - £9153.75

Processing Fee - £500

TOTAL COST - £27961.25

I went with the I-pace lease deal with these guys a few weeks back and the service was excellent. I just noticed this while having a quick look on their site and thought it may be of use to someone. £9,153.75 off list sounds like a decent deal to me, especially for a very desirable, capable hot hatch! The reviews certainly speak highly of it (review below). It's the Shadow Edition too so pretty well specced. It'll keep the Mrs happy anyway

carenthusiast.com/reviews/article/11772/-/2017-BMW-1+Series/First+drive+-+M140i+Shadow+Edition.html

Details

The BMW M140i Shadow Edition, which wears black detailing on the outside - for the kidney grilles, exhaust finishers, door mirrors, LED headlight inserts, darkened rear light clusters and Jet Black 18-inch wheels, although you can have these in Orbit Grey if you'd prefer - and adds new interior equipment. This comprises rear Park Distance Control, an uprated Harman Kardon sound system, sun protection glass and cruise control.

The price for this little lot is £1,335 on top of the standard M140i, and you can have the Shadow Edition pack in three- or five-door formats and with either a six-speed manual gearbox or eight-speed Sport automatic transmission. There are no further changes beyond that, and our particular car was a three-door automatic with additional options taking its list price ever so slightly beyond £40,000.

As well as the Shadow Edition package for the M140i, the entire 1 Series line-up has gained the updated interior from the 2 Series and a few very minor tweaks of the exterior styling. The obvious difference within comes from the addition of the 8.8-inch touchscreen on the top-spec infotainment system (Media Package Professional, a £775 option on this M140i Shadow Edition), with its six-tile main display and latest, sharpest graphics. Really, the 1 Series had its proper, 'full' midlife facelift in 2015, so this is just some minor tweaking to try and boost sales, ahead of an all-new, third-generation model appearing in 2018.

Manual? Processing fee? No thanks

Manual isn't for everyone fair enough, but moaning about the processing fee? Who cares? It could be a "polka-dot-trousers-in-the-office-day" fee, if it's the cheapest deal with the fee included, it's the cheapest deal, doesn't matter how they spin it.

Lol. Ok well you find me the car cheaper with or without the processing fee and I'll admit it's a rip off

I've just spoken to them Philip, just for you they're going to do a special deal! Only £27961.25 and NO processing fee! How's that?

Maybe take this to BMW UK at Park Lane directly and they’ll probably match it.
5 Door and 1 Series should not be uttered in the same sentence. (I did it to make a point)

The point being, there is hardly any space for the drivers, let alone passengers.
I tested one and they have poor visibility and a Horrible gearbox.

No way , your telling me if i walk into park lane in central london they will give that much off a car ,, were talking about Park Lane where the average man on the street has plenty of money !! next you will be saying if you going to Bentley in Mayfair they will give me a 50% discount because the car will lose that the minute you drive it away ! Lease companies get fleet discounts and Park Lane is a retail sales business .. jeeeeze

I prefer transparency with a anything I buy and why cant they make a profit , if they can save you money which a BMW dealer isn’t prepared to do what’s the issue , all I can see Is maybe you don’t have the £500 to pay for a service

Have you asked them? When you do then come back and post here

We tried them last year when my wife brough a brand new mini and they offered nothing compared to BMW Heathrow and we pushed hard , when we asked why they cant match a deal it was because they are owned by BMW and would be taking business away from the franchise dealership who pay a fee every year to have the BMW sign above the door ... makes sense to me and sure you would not be happy if you were being undercut by your supplier - its a good deal just admit it and move on
Philip_Sammond3 m ago

How do you know a bmw dealer can’t do that?

retail sales dont have the margins in which is why they sell pcp finance deals to make the profit ,eveyone knows that ,, are you saying the franchise dealer makes £10k a car ... ???
Lets make it something easy to leasers to understand.

Put down £2500 "Deposit" and then £500pm for 4 years (via Sainsbury's loan).

And guess what, you get to keep it afterwards.
But its a BMW, and a particularly ugly BMW....

Purely anecdotal but bpeaking to the BMW buyers in the office (Aylesbury) - they buy theirs from Berry Heathrow as they can swing a large discount. They sell so many cars they have a pot they can use to sweeten deals, get you on BMW finance etc. Apparently the local dealers cannot match their discounts, they were significantly cheaper for a colleagues 4 series and anothers 1 series.

Standard dealer stuff really - bigger dealers get better deals, but Park Lane is in the business of selling you a car and as I suspect they are a large dealer, they might be part of a large group, they might have a large pot and might be worth the hour each way to try.

Thing with these M140s is that they are being heavily discounted - loads of discussion on the owners groups about discounting and new cars with large discounts so it may well be worth trying PL, it may not, but definitely ask around and don't pay remotely full whack.

It's still a BMW dealer, regardless of where they are located.

BMW will price match these deals, you just have to ask and be forceful with what you want knocking off. I got just over £8,500 off my M240 direct with BMW which essentially covered all my options.

Very subjective that. I have exactly that car, I am 6 foot 1, and have no issue getting 4 adults in the car.

The gearbox is amazing, not horrible. I assume that you tested a standard 1 series not a baby M?
I'm not voting on this deal. This price is commonly available on negotiation with dealers, they offer tremendous discounts off list for the M140 (I bought my car with roughly the same spec but plus the adaptive suspension, Carplay and Harmon Kardon speakers for about the same money).

Great car by the way. Truly a fantastic drive. If anyone gets one make sure to look into BMW coding

Yet the overall deal is the cheapest than any other...... who cares what the processing fee is if the overall deal is cheaper than other deals that don’t have a processing fee. Some people don’t seem to get the simplest things in life!!
They are great cars. No it's not the most practical but it's so much fun. You will need a top end £40k hot hatch to beat this in a drag away from the lights, only an RS3 or A45. Which is easily 'corrected' with a little mapping. They put down 400bhp after a map, pavement melting little hatch. Hilarious.

The Ferrari 360 which went out of production only 13 years ago had a little less than 400bhp and nothing like the torque of these mapped. You shock and embarrass a great many cars.

4 year leases are the worst leases. If you want the car for 4 years this is probably the best way of doing it. Might even be the best way to do it over 2 years via PCP rather than a loan.
hows this compare to a TRL deal? if you don't know what that is you haven't done your research very well.....

the used prices of these cars are really really good (as in cheap) i personally wouldn't buy a new m140i..

You are making yourself look like an utter idiot. I have been in the industry for 30 years and know fully how brokers make a living.

You're simply not in the market for a car of anything like this value, so please stop being a pretender, it's embarrassing.
