a review from ukcampsite.co.uk
This must be the bargain of the year for couples or small families. £73.94 delivered. brand new on Ebay. I've just put it up,took photos and dismantled it on my own with relative ease in next to no time. 30 minutes erecting but probably quicker with a bit of help.Peg out the base, pop the three poles in then pull it up from one end like a concertina opening.Peg out the guy ropes that end then do the same to the opposite end. Five minutes pegging out the rest gets the job done. I was very pleased with the internal dimensions. Two sleeping pods that can each accommodate a double inflatable mattress with ease. There is a detachable zipped divider that leaves you with one huge sleeping area. Some reviews have mentioned concerns about finding extras such as footprints and carpets. After reading reviews on other sites I took the advice that the dimensions are the same as the Outwell Nevada 4 and these items are still available at knock down prices, brand new, on Ebay. £29:95 for carpet and less than £20:00 for the footprint. I can confirm that these both fit perfectly and make the tent more comfortable. I also bought separately a pair of 185cm Vango porch poles that fit perfectly and can be used on the large front opening or the side doors so you can arrange shade easily where you best need it. The big front door and the two side doors each have the options of having the clear windows left as they are for maximum light, curtains toggled in place for privacy or doors rolled up and mesh doors zipped up for light and bug prevention. On one side door there is a small extended porch which should help keep rain from entering the tent which is a nice useful feature. Apart from the three windows, one in each door, there are also two more triangle shaped windows at the front, also with curtains. There is a small zip entry for electric hook up to be passed through with velcro cable tidies leading to the lantern hook. All in all a nice, easy to erect tent thats comfortable and versatile. Built to the usual high standard the you expect from Outwell with a slightly lower Hydrostatic Head of 2500mm. I've personally had two nights of hurricane hell in an Igloo with 1500mm HH and stayed perfectly dry so I,m confident that this tent will offer perfectly good protection from the British weather. One reviewer raised concerns over replacement poles. No problem. Go Outdoors stock a range of suitable diameter replacement poles just in case the worse happens. I hope my review is helpful and happy camping!

Great find...im finding reasons to order one lol!!

just bought it thanks

Bargin!

I've been using an Outwell 3 man pop up tent for about the last 5 years for short breaks and its still going strong. Not a single faux pas so far and its been out in all weather.

Though as time goes on I seem to be buying and taking more gear with me so this could be a nice little upgrade.

Must...resist...

Original Poster

i tried to resist for a few weeks but i bought one tonight.
its bigger than the
GELERT ATLANTIS 4 nearly 75cm longer in length. the hi gear rock 4 from go outdoors is the gelert tent in size. and was made by gelert which ive had before but did not last long due to common faults.
this time i hope it being a ouwell it lasts me a few years instead of a few months. my tents do get used every weekend from now till october .lol

Re: outwell vacanza montreal at argos

Hi,

The Vacanza Montreal is a de-spec version of the Outwell Nevada 4 tent, try searching that tent for reviews as yours is the same. The only difference between the Montreal and Nevada is the colourway and a slight decrease in HH. Otherwise, from what i see the Vacanza is good value for money.

Cheers

Hmm... bought one of these last week for our Le Mans trip:
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/seconds-family-42-4-man-family-pop-up-tent-beige-red-id_8171127.html#v1333326

How does it compare? I know nothing whatsoever about tents, but the reviews for the Decathlon one were all glowing. Is it worth getting this instead?

It does look good. Maybe some glamping this summer methinks.

the outwell groundsheet is sewn in unlike the 4,2 which just sits on it
the out well has one bedroom fits a double air bed and clothes for two or can be divided into two pods by a curtain and has a larger living area. the 4.2 bedroom pods can have a double airbed in each but no room for your clothes unless its a single campbed or airbed.
have you put your 4,2 up yet if not have a go and see what you may think about it
what you may dicide is best for you but i hope you enjoy le mans this year

got the tent and carpet from ebay. Thanks a ton !

Found the erect \ dismantle video on Youtube:

Seems like a doddle (for 2 people) and has a much smaller footprint than i thought.

I can feel it sucking me in. I hate this site!

depends on what you want it for and what your priorities are. I would personally go for the montreal because they way its laid out and you can stand up in it, I like to have windows so I can see out. I have a similar outwell and I bought a canopy extension to go on the front so I can cook outside. My friend has a quechua family tent and used it for past four years and its served them well and is a good tent. The quechua you have got will be very quick to pitch, but make sure you know how to put it down, pop-up tents can be a nightmare to fold up. Compare the size/layout of both tents then make your decision, also compare the pack size/weight when its in the bag - you may find the montreal too bulky for what you need.
Good luck

Different shape completely.

This is HOT HOT HOT - I got an outwell from argos very similar to this model three years ago and its the explorer. I added front extension, carpet and footprint and its a brilliant set up.
just ordered this one for my daughter - couldnt resist at this price! oO

Can someone put a youtube video up pitching this tent when you get chance, I've ordered one but won't be using it until June & would love to archive the video on my phone for my first camping trip, happy camping. Cheers all

If anyone got one on a whim & has changed mind pm me ill buy it. Want to take the kids camping this summer

Yep all gone

We have the 5 man version of this - friends have the identical model but the more expensive range - we paid under £100 from argos eBay and they paid nearly £400. We haven't regretted it for a second

We used this video

Up is a 15 min job on your own. Down in under 10 (if its dry)

see gelert atlantis posted on here, I prefer the outwell but the gelert is still good make. Though its one big bedroom by looks of it.

can anyone recommend best front extension for this tent? i bought the nevada 4 carpet and ground sheet, but doesnt look like there's a nevada 4 front extension - some people seem to use a nevada m extension, and put up with the different colours

Is this big enough for a family of five. one baby two boys 4 and 6 and mom and dad obviously. is there an ability to add rooms onto this or buy two and join them together for more space, is it tall enough to stand in. Is it made from poly-cotton?

the atlantis has a bedroom divider in the middle of the bedroom making it 2 person each side or remove it to make one large bedroom its a good tent its cheaper than a rock 4 at the price i posted yesterday normaly double that price. both the gelert and rock 5 are nearly the same tent and made in the same factory.
hope those who got the outwell enjoy using it as it was a steal at that price.

i think traveller has summed up your question - all the measurements are clearly listed above - suggest you go to a tent exhibition and see some pitched, you get a better feel for what you need. Look at the reviews on the camping forums.
