... If you look the deal was posted a week ago. So i guess its no longer shown on their website and you will be lucky if they still have any in stock at your local. Shame its only been made hot recently, i would have gotten one last week.

You may have to check in store as i think it was last weeks offer, but offers can be different in other areas .

I saw shower sets like this in my local Aldi too, looked good and I think the price was the same.

... Thanks, unfortunately it doesnt list my local store (Barnstaple) or next nearest (Launceston) in Devon. For whatever reason it only listed Exeter and Torquay for the whole Devon region ?!?!?

SO bizarre! Very funny! :-D

These seem at first glance to be very good value. I bought two. I have installed both on instantaneous electric showers and they work well. BUT beware of one thing. The hand-held shower head has a dial type adjustment. One of them is "water stop". While fiddling with it to see the different spray patterns I got to the water stop setting and the pressure valve in my shower blew out, creating an impressive fountain inside the case where the 40 amp supply lurks.. Fortunately my pressure relief device can be reset so I did that (after hastily turning water and power off). I have now replaced the hand-held shower heads with ones that cannot be closed off and so far so good.

On the outside of the pack it says, "Suitable for boilers! Not suitable for low pressure....and vented (open outlet) water heaters (e.g. normal electric showers). Risk of injury if pressure too high" In the detailed instructions inside it says, "This product is suitable for use with instantaneous water heaters. It is not suitable for low pressure water heaters such as wood or coal burning bath geysers, oil or gas bath geysers, open electrically heated water tanks".

Go figure, as the Americans say.

As far as I am aware in the UK the vast majority of instantaneous water heaters are controlled on the inlet side, ie the cold mains water pushes the heated water out and the outlet side has to be permanently vented to the atmosphere. I have raised my safety concerns with Lidl but in their reply they seem to be implying that it is only suitable for Combi type boilers. Well, the set is quite nice to look at so if I have any more problems I suppose I could press them into service as hat stands.

BTW, they are selling the hand held shower heads as a separate item, one on its own and the other with a wall rail and soap dish. These seem to have the water stop feature as well and I imagine a lot of them will end up fitted to instantaneous heaters. Apparently the water-stop can come on automatically if the pressure falls.

Thank you trustysword for pointing out the waterstop setting on the hand held part of the overhead shower sold by lidl, This should not be there as electric shower outlets have to be open vented and the water supply on/off controlled by the heater unit. But I have made a simple modification to the hand held shower head by opening it up (the central part unscrews ) and fitting an extra stop ( a small screw ,pin,or similar) so that the water stop function cannot be selected.
