Should I buy this on XBox or PS4? 🎮🎮

Either unless you have friends to play with on a certain console. Doesn't matter for me as I have no friends

If you don't know, how are strangers on the internet supposed to know?

I should say... is XBox the only one who allows cross- platform play (or crossplay) with this game or does PS4 allow it too?
Damn, got to hit sub £20 for the digital version soon

There is no cross platform play for Overwatch for a number of reasons - but chiefly that it's felt that KB+M users on PC have a distinct advantage over console players. That said, you can cross-play Fortnite on PC + PS4, or PC + XBox... but not PS4 + Xbox, mainly because Sony doesn't want to lose it's market dominance advantage.

XBox can play with Nintendo Switch & PC users too... i’ll go with XBox. Never thought I’d see the day when Nintendo was more forward thinking & reasonable than Sony PlayStation smh
Wow, sold my copy to Music magpie for £15 only 2 months ago.

It is an amazing game but you need a group of friends to play with, competitive play is so toxic and abusive for solo players.

Yup, Microsoft has a few reasons for this - but one of them is growing the synergies between Xbox and the growing PC Gaming category. The recent buddy-buddy relationship with Nintendo is a bit more surprising but very welcome.

Although that's true, the toxicity has been reduced a fair bit over the last month due to Blizzard's introduction of player nominated awards for positive play. At the end of each match you can award good team-mates with one of three nominations "Good team-mate", "Shot caller" and... err, another one. They go towards your social rank, which then awards certain benefits (such as occasional loot boxes). People are being almost too nice at times "Hey, well played", "Thanks, you did well too" etc. *pukes*

Personally I spend 90% of my time in Arcade Mode or Quick Play and don't see much toxicity, aside from the predictable snide remarks if a 'low skill' move is given Play of the Game - such as a multikill from Sym or Torbjorn turret.
Good price for a fun game.

Have had this a few years and recently started again, getting a few friends involved is a good way to up the fun factor.

Getting stomped by 6 stack teams can grow weary.
Amazing value. Blizzard have been continuously pumping great new content into the game, re-balancing it, and investing in it. All for free. £15 is crazy value for money.

Also the competitive Overwatch scene is awesome. We're at the Overwatch League season 2 playoffs (started last night / this morning) on the Overwatch League, and London Spitfire (season 1 champions) are still in the running... Just. #AcesHigh

Overwatch League been picked up by ESPN and Disney X D too, in addition to streaming live on Twitch and the dedicated Overwatch League app.

The Overwatch Contenders (the sorta pro/am league) teams are keeping it exciting as well, with our British Hurricane being one of the teams to really look out for.

I've always found being overtly positive results in positivity which just makes things even more fun. I've been doing it since before launch

Maybe not the case on console. I've been told there's a marked difference although I've not seen that in person when I tried it on a Xbone. But certainly on the EU and PTR PC servers.

I've always greeted the server when I join, I'll gg;wp, call out good plays and/or good players on either team. A lot of people will say hi, some will strike up conversation, some will invite to party up. (The "stay as a team" was the best addition tbh.) And it's just good fun.

More so in QP, but often in comp at around silver and bronze. (I can't speak for GM just yet... But you're gunna have an especially hard time without comms and cooperation at the really high levels.)

The other less savoury (but perhaps more salty) benefit is that being overwhelmingly positive drives trolls absolutely mental. There is the odd person who'll tell me to kill myself, I just report them and get on with being nice to people and playing Overwatch. My friends list is always expanding, I can always find someone to party with if I want to, and it's just really good fun to play.

The world could always use more heroes.

Ha, I had someone say that (generally to the group) at the weekend. Like you say, they got reported and quite possibly a nice fat ban. I don't like using a mic which is why I don't do much in the way of competitive ranking, but muting other people is nice and easy to do.

Looking forward to the introduction of Hammond / Wrecking Ball soon, although I wasn't a big fan of the changes to Sym recently (I understand them, I just don't like them).

You don't play on Console? I've been off Overwatch for a while and played more fortnite recently esp. on the Switch. Friendly players who are nice and help you get better and don't hurl insults are always welcome in my book.

I'm dreading Hammond coz I absolutely suck at the mechanics. I'm less airborne murder ball, more Miley Cyrus...
