Own The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Free on Blinkbox - NOTE: You will need at least £5 existing Tesco Clubcard points

Blinkbox are doing a deal (may have previously been posted) where you get 500 Tesco Clubcard points if you buy The Amazing Spider-Man 2 via their site.
(Note: There was a code going round 'BUY50' to get this even cheaper, but it has now expired it seems...)

If you go onto the Tesco Clubcard site you can exchange £5 in Clubcard tokens for £10 in Blinkbox credit.

Use the £10 Blinkbox credit to buy Spider-Man 2 (Non-HD) and you'll get 500 Clubcard points on your next Clubcard statement (as per their terms and conditions - you still get the points even if you use credit).

This way you have spent 500 Clubcard points (£5) to get the £10 Blinkbox credit, but you will earn this back on your next Clubcard Statement because of the 500 points for buying Spider-Man 2 offer.

You can now sit back and enjoy the film which you now own - effectively for free - and can watch whenever you like!

At time of posting (18:00 - 07/09/2014) there are 3400 Blinkbox codes still available on the Tesco Clubcard site.

Should just add that obviously you will need a Blinkbox account as well.

Those who are not acquainted with Blinkbox can read about them here: blinkbox.com/About
They are an online only service.

good spot, just wish the film was a better one

Cold better off using the points towards a hard copy of the movie you never own the movie blinkbox does if they shut down there goes your movie.

Yes but if you use points to buy a hard copy - your Clubcard points are gone for good.

This way it costs you no points at all because you earn them all back. Therefore if you don't like the film, it hasn't cost you anything.

In the unlikely event that something happens to Blinkbox (even though they are owned by the giant that is Tesco's) you still wouldn't actually have lost anything in reality (because its effectively free anyway) and you'd have had chance to watch the film at least once - which is worth the rental cost at £3.49 alone.

This has already been posted. You can go through TCB as well to get about £2.32 cashback so you'll actually be in profit

Similar but not a duplicate as it doesn't use the Blinkbox credit via Clubcard. I believe their method makes it cheap, but not free.
May be possible to combine the two though?

Also means you need a cashback account and be in possession of one of the Blinkbox codes (which many aren't) - so that may add a few hurdles for some.

Perhaps if someone has all the relevant accounts, codes, Clubcard points etc - they could confirm what can and can't be combined?

Thanks, two head's up in one post. More vouchers and an essentially free film.

Lol you'd have to pay me to watch that tripe again

Meaning you watched it once - which would have cost zero with this method. I'm not commenting on whether the film is good or not - that is down to individual opinion - just that the offer is worth letting people know about.

Good point. I haven't heard great things about the film but if you're getting it for free (or making a profit in some cases) it's worth a look. I like the fact that they're trying to go down the comic book route a bit more, they just haven't made a good enough stab at it yet

I mentioned in one of my comments on that post about using Blinbox credit … I mentioned in one of my comments on that post about using Blinbox credit where you'd only need to exchange £2.50 of cc vouchers as you could use the 50% off voucher taking the cost of the film down to £5. Think the voucher has expired now though. I had a really long work through in my own head that confused everyone I think, including myself (_;). It worked out in the end though. This seems like the best deal around at the moment thoughSimilar but not a duplicate as it doesn't use the Blinkbox credit via Clubcard. Can you download it to your tablet to watch offline?

Original Poster

Yes as Luvclub pointed out - there is no code for this deal so it has not expired.
(There was a code for one of the other methods mentioned above - which I believe has indeed expired - as I mention earlier).

And yes I believe it to be technically free as you spend 500 points to get the credit - then earn 500 back on your next statement once you purchase as described above - so there is no cost.
In fact I think you also get 9 Clubcard points for the actual purchase as well (or so it said when I checked out on Blinkbox) - so you should gain a few points overall.

Not sure about watching offline on a tablet. There is an option to download the film and it will play on Windows Media Player offline I believe (double check on their site) - whether the file is then compatible for transfer to tablet - you'd have to check on the BB website and in your tablet manual.

This link should explain how to download the film, and the various ways that you can go about watching it at home or on the go....

From blinkbox FAQs - Downloading on a PC:

Does this mean I can watch offline and abroad?

Sorry, but it’s not possible to watch blinkbox Movies entirely offline or outside of the UK on your PC, even if you’ve downloaded your purchase. When you press play, we need to get a licence so you can watch. When we do this, we’ll need a UK-based internet connection.

Ok so you need an internet connection to acquire the licence at the start of the film - appreciate the clarification!
