I have the Oxo potato peeler and can confirm it is really sharp, the best potato peeler I have ever had. If you look on amazon at the reviews for it, you will see many people have cut their fingers using it (me included). Just glide the peeler over the potato and the skin comes off with ease.
Has anybody tried the tin opener?, I can't seem to find a decent one, I've tried battery operated ones, ones that cut the lid off round the outside of the tin, and ones like the one pictured above, but they never last long, and they stop gripping the tin properly and keeps slipping.
I have the tin opener in black its excellent. I bought my mum one for after a hand operation she had weakness in her hand and it really helped her.

Looking at the reviews, it looks like cheap tat. I've considered purchasing an old fashioned tin opener, but yet to find a good quality made one, the blade tends to bend after a few uses.

I have tried a couple of electric tin openers, they have lasted longer than the manual ones, but still deteriorate after a while, not griping the tin or not cutting the lid.

As I mentioned in my first post, I have the Oxo potato peeler which I am very pleased with, I also have an Oxo pizza cutter (although not the same as the one pictured above), which I am also pleased with, so I may as well try their tin opener.

Thank you all for your recommendations, it was much appreciated.
Thanks ,ordered.I also have the black tin opener and a few other oxo items .cant fault any of them.
I bought one of these recently which is soooo much better than any of the standard type of can openers like the one on this thread.

I like the idea of this one. After looking at the reviews, I think this one is a must. Thank you ZigoRich.

Comparing my great OXO can opener - black with straight handles - it look different to the one shown in the set on the JL website. Is that one as good?
Have used a Brabantia tin opener for years - ebay.co.uk/itm…709 seems to be the latest variation. Love the way it locks onto the can... Certainly not the cheapest but good for my arthritic hands.
