just heated it up for ya... looks good

I visit London about 5 times a year at weekends and use the Tube when I'm there.

Do you think its worth me setting up an online account to get the offers referred to?

Thanks for your help.

I recon Oyster is great! I've had mine for a few months and only used it once so far. But its so much easier to travel with and the kids go free. (Save £1 each )
Also, consider this. We we purchased zone 1 to 6 day trip which they loaded onto the card. We only travelled in zone 1 to 5 so now have a balance left on our cards of about £1.22 or so. It stays on there till next trip so next time it will be a cheaper round for us.
It cost us nothing to get ours so never saw a reason not to get it. These 2 for 1 offers make it more attractive. Think its time I did another trip up.

Oh, another nice feature is you can track where you got on and off tubes etc. You can view this info on-line or at the station "help yourself" terminals. Very clever way of them keeping an eye on your travel habits hey

Thanks a lot for the info. I've applied for one myself online. Is it worth applying for my wife separately as she's normally with me when we travel with the kids?

Thanks again.

Everyone needs their own card - at least the adults...

Anyone with a valid oyster card can take advantage of this offer.
One advantage of having an online account is the ability to top-up your Oyster card w/o having to queue at stations.

Some MoneySaving Tips using Oyster cards:
Oyster cards (as compared to cash) are always the cheapest option (especially when making single trips by bus/tube).
And if you take the tube after 7pm (weekdays) and all day weekends, it costs no more than £2, for a single trip, to any London Underground zone.
Very handy for trips to heathrow (zone 6) to catch those evening/late night flights.

I got a Free Oyster Card a few months back Thx to HUKD, saved the £3.00 admin fee.

Now the 241 offer great, Heat left :]

I bought Oyster for £ 3.50 and when I returned the card, I got £ 3.50 back, so... nothing to lose and everything to gain!

this has been going on a LONG time

How do I get an Oyster card for free then? :P

You get a free Oyster card if you buy a min. of 1 week pass (min. spend is £13 for 1 week unlimited travel on London -TfL- Buses valid in all zones)

Alternatively, you can buy a single bus fare for 90p on oyster. However, you'll need to pay a deposit of £3 which will be refunded when you return the card or upgrade your Oyster balance to a weekly/monthly travel card.

Nice find heat added

Has anyone been to the Cambridge theatre? Should I go for tickets in the stalls or the dress circle?

Thanks

Hey there ]meggiemoo_d.
I've not been to the Cambridge Theatre, however there is a brilliant website that will give you all the information you need to know about theatres, their seating and when it's worth buying the cheaper seated tickets:

theatremonkey.com/

I've used it a fair few times to check whether my view will be blocked in a particular seat, if there are any special offers for that theatre, etc.

For the Cambridge Theatre specifically, see this page on the site:

theatremonkey.com/CAM…htm

I hope that helps.
