I use third party tapes from Amazon and they are a fraction of the price and perform just as well

They just look like a thin strip of white laminated paper with computer style print (functional but not decorative), I believe you can buy different colours and sizes of tape for it up to a width of about 12mm.

EDIT I think there are some special characters/patterns/fonts to add a little decoration to your labels to make them a little more interesting.

I have one of these, great little machine! Various choices of fonts and little designs, my only bug bear with it is that it does print out a bit more label than is needed but it's only a minor irritation.
Thanks OP.

Would be expensive for kids to have fun with. Also these machines waste alot of Tape on either side of the print. Sneeky manufacturer.
Again its like the computer printers. Cheap equipment expensive consumables. Yes there is non genuine consumables. But why should we have to go that route. Shouldn't the companies offer competitive pricing.
Fab! Thank you just ordered both my girls one. (Will probably regret it when there are labels everywhere lol) i used to love mine when I was a kid
Nothing special about this deal via hotukdeals ither than it brings it to peoples attention.

if you are in the market for one of these and google the model it comes up with the item at staples with the VAT included.

beware the hot deals pricing and link are the “without VAT” prices.

cerainlt a good deal if you need one of these machines, I have a similar model and paid twice the price. Very handy for all sorts of purposes
Does anyone know if it comes with any tape?
Thanks for posting. Just ordered one
Ordered thanks

When Kids were doing some labelling had to work out longest messages and used spaces rather than one label per word as wastage was more than used.

I've had these from costco and also came with duracell batteries - so starter is good value.

Nope. That's how they get you. Tapes are expensive. But you can get 3rd party ones on AliExpress or ebay amazon etc for cheap
Does this do the 3d type of lettering like the old machines?
Can you configure size of labels?)) Good idea to label all my flash drives
Exactly 2 X the price for northern Ireland customers. Something needs to be done about this blatant ripping off of people here.

Yes these do waste a lot of tape, it's almost like Brother somehow benefit from wasting tape what I do is as it prints the last letter press the cutter button, it stops printing the 1" waste, gives 'cutter error' but allows you to manually cut before it carries on printing nothing on that last inch. With a little practice you can save quite a bit of tape.

Typically if you printed a word like KITCHEN it'll use 2cm either side of the word and you end up with a label with as much wastage as wording.

The cheap copy tapes on Ebay are OK but some don't give such good print quality and nearly all have far inferior stickiness but for most users they're fine and about 1/3rd the price of Brother label tapes.
These smaller handhelds usually have a maximum tape size of 12mm so you cannot use 18, 24 or 36mm wide tapes

How do you refill the ink?

How do you refill the ink?

You buy cartridges, they're thermally printed, so you have a white tape and the printer burns on the black letters, or vice versa if using black labels. Only the tape cartridge needs replacing, no inks.

Welcome to HUKDeals, joined today!
Not sure what your comment means... The post says £5.32, which is the price including VAT, and the link goes to the same page as google, shows the price inclusive of VAT. The total cost delivered is £8.80, same as the post.

What is special about the deal, is that it is reduced from £25, which was the cheapest price available apart from eBay. The idea of this site is to bring available deals to members attention. And an item reduced from £25 plus delivery, to £8.80 delivered, is considered a deal.

The down side to the deal is that it does not include any tape, and needs 6x AAA batteries.

They come out looking like labels
Have the H101 and you can edit the tape length. Sandy change the text size.

If you print more than one label at a time you only get waste after the last one. If you only print one then yes you get the inch waste every time.

I use the iron in tapes and find that setting it to 30mm labels with small/medium text is plenty for my needs.

Again 3rd party sellers are way cheaper but you get what you pay for. Still haven't found one that has the same quality as OEM. But absolutely fine for my purposes.
I have a couple of different brother label printers. You can stop it wasted as much tape if you select menu/margin/chain print. I buy a pack of 3 compatible labels on amazon 5 pack for £16.20. It does eat batteries though 6 AAA' I use enelopees in mine always have a spare pack ready
Stonking bargain, but out of stock now.
