That £315.86 would be ex-vat. Since most people pay VAT, the more accurate price would be £379.03.
For £10-£20 more I would have bought the 1050 - but it's never been available at that sort of price so not sure what you're trying to say? £36 more for a 1050 (cheapest it's ever been) isn't so appealing. Also, from what I've seen, if you are lucky enough to unlock the extra shaders on the 460, and add a small OC, it'll match or even beat out the 1050 in a number of DX12 based games, so value for money is potentially amazing (but still good regardless).
even though this expired, for future ref - http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp%5B%5D=3557&cmp%5B%5D=3116&cmp%5B%5D=3596 would buy GTX 1050 for the extra 10-20 quid
Sadly that doesn't mean much as there are so many revisions and variables to take into account. I can say for certain that it does NOT work for the card I received in this deal. Shame really. And also for anyone thinking of trying this - make sure to check the product name/ID listed in the stock bios matches or is at least very similar to the unlocked bios as there are a number of reports of soft bricking with this card.
Hopefully someone gets one, expired as price now back up to £104.54 as pointed out by rav4cas.
Yep, gone back up most places. Seems this is the cheapest now at about £77 shipped: http://www.onestoppcshop.co.uk/powercolor-red-dragon-radeon-rx-460-2gb-gddr5-AXRX-460-2GBD5-DH-OC.html?gclid=Cj0KEQiAk5zEBRD9lfno2dek0tsBEiQAWVKyuJFb6vOcHcAjKhg-_V08FO87mS7wPJiqOGafWxY3lWwaAu3u8P8HAQ
New driver out. Wattman fixes.
not only that but it gets hot quick till it throttles until i adjusted the settings in wattman, never did i have to do anything with nvidia straight out the box it works as it should no matter how ultra the settings be but hey thats nvidia, the best and the pro's ...now i im starting to understand why people hate amd so much.
480 IS superior to 1050 even with their "**** drivers" (otherwise nobody would ever buy rx480 for 220+ pounds if 1050 (which costs around 140-150) was even near it. You can make paragons with 1060, and yes, in the beginning 1060 was outperforming rx480 by 5% more or less, but after recent driver updates they are on the same level.
speaking of rx 480 being superior to the 1050 ti... only if amd fix their drivers because its completely ****...well they always were
