If your ASDA has a Photo store then it's worth checking them as well as I couldn't find any in the actual ASDA store but quite a few in the Photo store a few weeks back. All sold out at Corby though.

nice price, My Asda (Milton Keynes) never seem to have them in when they are on special, I wonder why

Yep it was next to the photo section, had plenty though.

The best!

I managed to get some AA eneloops and AAA energisers (1£ for a pack of 2) couple of weeks ago in MK, I guess I was lucky as there was no price tags on shelf

Excellent price for great batteries

great deal,great battery-heat added

Very good deal! Good batteries.

very good price i need them i will buy them tomorrow

None in Asda Jewel, Edinburgh. Looked in photo section and normal battery section. Not even an empty space.

Don't know much about batteries but.. are these much better than the ones you get in poundland?

Great deal, expect to pay between £5-£7 for a pack of 4 AAA's at most retailers. Heat Added! All I have to do now is find a big ASDA near me that stocks them

The ultimate in rechargeable batteries

The ultimate in rechargeable batteries

No these are: vapextech.co.uk/aca…tml

Our dewsbury does mostly Duracell. Also managed to get some duracell AAA rechargables 2000mh for £2.49 in Bradford Asda living on tuesday!

Another tiresome store specific deal - voted cold - why do people bother?

None in Monks Cross, York branch.

Great price but I'm struggling to think when I last needed some AAA batteries. Is there much call for them these days?

Ironically mccririck posted a thread about vapex batteries here:

post #115 seems to suggest their AAA's are far from 'the ultimate'

Yes it appearas the GP Recyko are the best amongst the AAA from what I've read on the internet, got myself a dozen from ebay

7dayshop branded ones are much better.

I bookmarked an excellent comprehensive review of these low discharge batteries that was carried out in Dec 2010 by a self confessed battery nerd.

The link to the review is: e-group.uk.net/for…087

The author's conclusion was that Vapex tech was the clear winner, well ahead of the eneloops and GP Recyko.

Without doubt, there is a clear winner when all things are considered. … Without doubt, there is a clear winner when all things are considered. Some of you may not be familiar with Vapex Tech as a brand but do not worry. Previously, I had tested the lower capacity version and expressed concern at the large, virtually 9% range the tested set showed. The new 2300mAh version of the Instant battery performed far better at just 3% at worst. The capacity figures the tests revealed are stunning, peaking at 2263mAh in the high rate test, that’s as good as 30% more than the poorest performer. Add this to the very modest cost when bought direct via Ebay of a set of 4 at just £5.55 delivered, you have yourself a bargain. That’s not all either, you will even get a nice plastic storage case as well. Therefore I have no problem giving Vapex Tech a wholehearted plug, superb.

how many mah are these Sanyo batteries?

Hmmmmm.......a good thread but it is also interesting to read that the other posters had differing opinions, one of whom comes across as another 'battery nerd'.

One thing is clear. Those who claim to know that one brand is clearly better than their main competitors don't know what they're talking about.

I think his conclusions from his data are completely wrong regarding the Vapex. According to those figures it has double the self-discharge rate of most, which is a big negative he ignores. With all things considered, I would say the Hybrio is clearly the best buy at those prices.

i heard he had a vested interest in the said company ..

Eneloops only came out average in the latest edition of Which? magazine.

Yes, Eneloop and the equivalents hold 85% of their charge for 12 months, Standard re-chargeables don't.

Did they actually test the whole point of low self discharge battery or did they just test max capacity immediately after charging or how long they can power a high power usage device immediately after charging?

Unfortunately, Which? magazine tests can be hit and miss and can be sometimes far from exhaustive and very superficial. Some of their reviews are very good but for technology products, I tend to trust more specialised press more.

Just got a couple of packs of AA for the same price in Middlesbrough
