1st thanks to shaunpriest for posting the tv only deal, without which i wouldn't have found this.

2nd thanks to sidinho for the 5% off code REVIEW5 bringing the price down to £483.54 (applicable to both reserve and collect & home delivery)

I've just purchased this package instore, whereby they are doing an offer of a 5 year warranty on the tv for the price of a 3 year warranty @ £114.99 which i pay in 4 x interest free, 3 monthly installments by direct debit.

I used quidco reserve and collect @ 3% (excluding warrantly) which saves another £15.

NOTE: The price £508.99 excludes warranty.

The 12 month free lovefilm rental can be found on the Toshiba site.

A damn good price for all that you are getting i think, with a fair priced warranty in acceptable payment terms.

I'll post the Tosh link on the post below for ease of reference.

Btw The tv fit easily in my 2 door megane coupe and stores seem to have plenty of stock.

Just wanted to add if you're going for this, please read the lovefilm offer carefully as they have strict time guidlines.

Another Add - Sky Remote Code is 1536

A 40" 1080p lcd and blu-ray player, plus the use of Reza link & 12 month lovefilm subscription, for under 500 notes with quidco and being voted cold! I must have been robbed

There are no codes for tv's unfortunatley - I spent hours searching.

In regards to those retailer that offer the 5 year warranty as standard, I spent alot of time considering models, and prices, etc and it really surprised me that the best deal for my circumstances would come from Comet.

As for price-matching, it's already been stated that this is an exclusive model to Comet. Plus John Lewis pricematch procedure is that you purchase the item full price, and then put in a 'claim', they will then process your claim and if sucessful they will then refund you the difference.
Not as straight forward as it seems.

No it isn't , you tell them that it is available elsewhere , even in one of their own stores , they cross check it is in stock , they then pricematch if stock is available .

No way do you buy then claim back unless your daft enough to do so in the first place .

Only quoting what i was told by a staff member instore a few days before Christmas when enquiring a pricematch with Richer Sounds. He concluded that when they open after the Christmas break, tomorrow, they will be unable to process a pricematch as it's Sunday and the staff that process these don't work Sundays.

Perhaps my local store has a different procedure to yours, but i have no reason to lie.

think you were mis informed - JLP do definately match on order - but you also have the benefit of getting a price match up to 28 days after if you find it cheaper - then they refund the difference. This partner probably just couldn't be bothered due to time of year

Correct. JL have a special pricematch team that don't work weekends. The person who told him this was trying to make a sale by the sounds of it. It's also difficult to get them to pricematch Richer Sounds as the store they are checking on has to have physical stock in store and RS never seem to, most stuff they will order in for you (my experience anyways with various TVs).

is this better than ]http//ww…8-1 ?

Wow sounds like a great deal :-D

I am not implying you are lying , only mis-informed .

great deal. now if I wasn't such a perfectionist I wouldn't be looking at LED backlight LCDs.

I was looking at these but the prices put me off, especially with the 3d tv's on the horizon.
I'm giving this one a go for a few years, when the prices of the others would have dropped.

just got mine up and running. picture is as good as ANY lcd i have seen with sky hd. well chuffed. thanks again op

Just finished setting mine up as well - Sky HD is impressive.
I also found the stand was easy to attach.

BTW Sky Remote Code is 1536

cant believe no one has saId you can use the 5% REVIEW5 code, which works!

BRINGS IT DOWN TO £483.54!!

Plus 3% quidco means its about £470, for a decent tosh telly, bd player and 12 months lovefilm (not sure what package this is, but if its the standard one, thats worth £150!)

saintscuople, you should adjust the price to £483.54 for some more heat and cred!

Thanks for this - I've amended the title & original post, and repped ya  - even though i've just missed out on a £25.45 discount :x Though i'm more than happy with the price i paid :-D

Got one of these yesterday afetr seeing this. Very pleased with deal. Did try Quidco link but kept getting message saying to try later so went straight through Comet site no problems but obviously at the £508 price. Then remembered daughter works in call centre and gets 10% off so payed £458 in end!
I have registered for Lovefilm offer - bit of messing but worth it - and had a look at their site. Looks good site but basic membership (which I assume this is!) is less than £4 a month. You get 1 at a time and limit of 2 a month.

Cannot find much about the actual tv's in the way of reviews though. The XV models get good ones but this is an AV model so don't know if same?

Gotta be honest, this wasn't exactly the tv I was looking for, but for a complete package at this price is an amazing deal.
Reserved the TV, BD player together with the Alphason tv stand yesterday. Went to the store to collect (which was packed) and as usual the display tv was connected to an analogue source. Spoke to the manager who kindly moved the tv to another area in order for me to see it display HD picture, which was very good. Have set it all up at home and am not dissapointed. SD picture is very good as well.
Heat and rep given to all who have added to the deal.

This is an excellent find! Has the price gone down? With the discount code it's showing at £407.55 excluding delivery. So getting this!

EDIT: Oh wait, silly me, I didn't read it properly >.

good price... tempted, not quite what i was after but still tempted never-the-less!!!

please help me. how do you get the price to £483. cheapest i can get it to with review 5 code is 530. a bit thick you see. thanks

The price has gone back up, the TV used to be £430

hi, when I go on the comet site its only got the tv for 499 with the blu ray player its over 500
