These are the details off the amazon page. As you can see it has an N280, which is a plus, but the 3-cell battery leaves a lot to be desired... Nice find all the same.

Does it come with ION or Intel graphic?

Your bog standard intel, If they do have Ion they usually shout about it. Only models I'm aware of with Ion are Compaq mini 311c and Samsung n510. I have seen mention a Lenovo model has Ion but haven't found it on sale in the UK.

Packard Smell. Hence probably best avoided.

Only 3 cell battery too. Not much more money gets you a 6 cell with about double the battery life.

I never knew that. I was never a big Packard Bell fan.

I posted a deal for the same model but with:

Windows 7
250gb Hard drive
6 cell battery

for £248 in comet + quidco

should have been quicker

The equivalent Acer is £200 on Comet at the moment though...?

The Comet Acer also has a free 3 Mobile dongle with 3GB data for free … The Comet Acer also has a free 3 Mobile dongle with 3GB data for free (normally £39.99) so well worth considering! The only other difference is the CPU, N270 on the Acer and N280 on the PB.I'm sticking with my Dell. :-D

nope it has the N280 processor:

comet.co.uk/sho…ion

edit: Hmmm it says N280 but then the clock speed is 1.6GHz which is N270 territory rather than 1.66GHz.... My friend ordered one, will see what it turns out to be, otherwise best call them or just order it, will be free to return it as it is their fault if it turns out to be the N270 processor.

Has anyone ordered one of these then?

Packard Bell is slow, battery fail and un-responsive. if this is an model like 4-5 years ago like i had, its likely to be crap. no one wonder they are now owned by Acer but i'm sure Acer can improve the failures of packard bell.

They had the D250 for 200 the other day, and the D250 with the 6cell for 230.

Oddly the 6 cell one is now showing as unavailable but they had them instore when I bought mine, thought acer and PB might be connected when the XP install said thankyou for purchasing your packard bell.

Seems like a solid enough netbook, easy enough to get at the ram and hdd on the D250 so if this PB is the same chassis it will be easy to upgrade the memory on :-)
