thanks emma. in reply to jabski i think its got plenty more oomph then just to surf the net with. definetly could be used as a second media center pc where you could stream your media for example from the main pc to a bedroom?

I purchased a recon Packard Bell from Currys (the 2470 last month)

PC worked fine however the hard drive when being accessed was far too noisy. It didnt sound like it was failing and passed tests I ran on it but simply reading and writing sounded like my grandmother rattling dried pies in a tin can.

As it was being sold as a media centre PC I rang them and explained that no way could anyone use this in their livving room as you could not hear the TV. They simply agreed to take it back and refund.

Shame as it was a great price for the spec but you do get what you pay for it seems.
