I was expecting to pay £379 for this in store - which having looked around online seems to be a decent bargain in its own right. But when I got in store the assistant scanned my clubcard and a voucher sheet and lo and behold another £30 off! I don't think you'll get a higher spec laptop anywhere at this price point.

Other features: 1.3MP webcam, HD 3000 on-board graphics, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, black (red also available).

The assistant was probably one of the rare nice ones, as there is a £30 off £300 voucher available.

Not a bad deal but if you wait you can get an i5 for less than £400.

£30 more buys you i5 3210m.

Where from?

I doubt my local will have any anyway

not a bad deal at all, have a little heat.

i'd expect to pay around £300 for a budget i3, this being the 2350, having 6gb RAM and a Tb Hdd it's prob worth the extra.

I would probably agree with you, though I do have an Easynote and must admit I love it [the Touchpad used on the Easynote range is absolutely superb]. If you can stretch the extra £40 then I would go for the Fujitsu, less hard drive space but much better CPU.

I have had my Easynote for over a year now and can't fault it at all. It's never slowed down or gave me any problems and I only ever put it to sleep after use with a shutdown/reboot maybe once a week. I have the i3 and it's perfect for everyday internet/music use etc. Good deal.

* HELP * ...Is this laptop any good as a gaming computer for my teenage son's Christmas,...or am I better to go for a tower PC,...If so, can any of you experienced gamers suggest anything as I am a technophobe, ( So my son tells me ) and don't have a clue about spec etc..... My price bracket is £350 tops...Many thanks in anticipation :-) x

It's actually £40, there have been a few deals in the past 2 weeks on the i5 laptops. indeed there has been one posted today here:

hotukdeals.com/dea…557

What is the exact model number for this deal as the details in the first post are not the same as in the get deal link

You'll need a dedicated graphics card for playing games. Normally you get more bang per buck by buying a desktop pc. You could also save money if you already have a monitor. Plus most desktop pcs can easily be upgraded so if it doesn't come with a dedicated graphics card you can buy one seperately. If none of this is making sense or you want a laptop I came across this the other day ebay.co.uk/itm…0aa

The "Get Deal" link was added by someone else and refers to the Tesco Direct store, not Tesco Extra. The spec is pretty much the same, although the Windows 7 on the one I bought was 64-bit not 32-bit. One other thing - Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 is included, which is pretty good image editing software.

Agree with what mentm says.
If you know what games your son will be wanting to play that might help determine how powerful the graphics will need to be on the new computer. Once you what he wants to play you can maybe ask a non-technophobe friend for advice or ask a question in deal requests / misc.

This very favourable review is for a slightly different model number, but on the face of it is for the same laptop:

Expert Reviews: Packard Bell EasyNote TS45-HR-965UK review

Note the price of £529 when reviewed in Feb of this year.

One final thing, the keyboard is very good. This should be a given, but a while ago I bought a more expensive i5 Acer Aspire 5750G, (from Tesco Direct) with elevated keys. I should return it as it is virtually unusable - but I'll probably make do with an USB keyboard instead. With the Packard Bell being in-store it's a big advantage from the testing it out perspective.

Thanks

My daughters laptop packed up and i can afford around £ 350.00 to replace. I want something with decent spec for her homework etc. Built in photo shop preferable.

looks like the deal has finished
