The ebay listing that deal linked to has ended so I guess this is a 'new' deal...

Where did you bring it to?

Sorry, but someone had to say it.

2 hours battery life is pretty horrendous but if you mainly have it plugged in then it is a good deal. Voted hot.

Rubbish laptop.

Can anyone recommend other great i5 deals out there? Looking for something more portable than this one though...14" or under....

Proper, PROPER good forumming.

I had one and it did me well for about 2 years. It's a good laptop if well looked after (unlike mine), and this has a better processor than what I had so can't go wrong really!

Rubbish comment!

Shame that its packard bell, one of the highest failure rates in the laptop industry.

Banned

+ good processor, large HDD
- pretty much everything else

most people would be just fine with i3 version, which is in ~370 range including RAM upgrade. i3 version has only 3GB. also 750GB HDD.

Terrible battery life and the fact the touchpad is so far on the left ruins ruins this.

To be fair, the touch pad position seems to be pretty standard for laptops with a full number pad, the touch pad is in the centre of the main keyboard area and thus away from where you would normally rest your wrists when typing, ie below the right Alt and Ctrl keys which are almost bang centre.

integrated graphics... no thanks

getting really sick of seeing "brought" when people mean "bought". its almost as bad as this.

Have a look on the Dell Outlet site

Recently bought an Acer i5 2450M, 6GB RAM DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 3000 / Nvidia GeForce GT 520M 1GB, 1TB HDD, 3 x USB ports (1 USB 3.0) for £450 delivered from Sainsburys last month, but this is a fairly similar deal for £50 less, so hot from me...I think (don't know much about Packard Bell laptops).

Thanks Robbino, had a look there - fancy the XPS 14Z but a couple of hundred pounds over budget unfortunately!

Yeah I know, I was going to mention that but didn't really want to bang on about dedicated graphics because I doubt it makes it that much faster during day-to-day operations. The GT 520M isn't the best dedicated graphics card either, but it is good to know I can run games with a bit of confidence and it also helps the laptop age a bit better.

I think if I was looking at buying this laptop though I'd spend the extra £150 and get the TOSHIBA Z830-10U ULTRABOOK posted on here.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh the bagain demon. Looking at what you could have bought something for if only you had waited..........
