Buying aftershave on amazon is risky, a lot of fake perfume and aftershave there.
Surely sold by Amazon means they're genuine?

They wouldn't be supplying from a random third party seller...

Maybe I'm wrong, but if Amazon themselves are selling fakes, it would be all over the newspapers, no?

Buy one from Amazon, return a fake one to Amazon... easy as that. Gets put back into circulation.

Oh so Amazon don't 'sell' fakes. It's the customers defrauding Amazon.

Totally different

Mmm yeah, but that's how it can work, just giving an explanation of how you'd end up buying a fake.
Amazon has still sold you the fake unknowingly.

But surely that's a potential risk you take in any perfume shop? so the message is, don't buy anything anywhere, as it could be fake

The returns dept. is massive and they'll likely process it without a full inspection. An independant shop will more than likely spot the fakes as they handle them every day, even places like Boots.
There's always a potential to recieve fakes from anywhere, but if you suspect this you have a right to return it and point it out.
