Would rather buy the UHD disc and get this in proper quality.

Yawn. We get it, some people dont like iTunes 4K films, so just keep scrolling. It gets a little boring and troll-like having to read “the disc is better” on EVERY iTunes thread.

Literally every thread for iTunes 4K has the same comments!

Anyway, that aside....i found this deal too. Heat Op!

I'm just always torn whether it's a good deal. If it was the 4k disc, it would be, but as it's compromised on both video and audio, the deal is pretty cold. As the standard 1080p blu-ray is this price but contains higher quality audio and higher bitrate video, I'm going to say this is cold.

Come on now, behave mate. How is this still not a good deal when there's numerous videos going around comparing 4K disc and Apple TV side by side and there's barely much difference?
Gotta love those disk people who most of the time don't have a good uhd player, surround sound/Dolby atmos system and a tv that has good hdr/Dolby vision. Then says visuals and audio is better on disk but don't want admit their not utilising it to its full potential without the proper equipment

Great price for both of them and shame atm Paddington didnt get upgrade to 4k Dolby vision.

Me personally will be picking this up on Google play movies as am going to skip 4k hdr for the option of family library for 5 screens option.

They aren't going to look much difference on a dodgy captured video - you're limited to the quality of the capture device.

Sure, if you've only got a basic soundbar and a cheap TV which doesn't show the quality, then iTunes is fine as you won't see the difference. But it you can't see or hear the difference, £15 is actually quite a lot - you're paying for quality you don't get.

Out of curiosity, have you actually got an Apple 4k TV and seen the quality of their 4k transfers? IMHO I think they are stunning.

Had one in my shopping basket but didn't order when I found out it didn't support high quality audio. Seen some video comparisons on-line though and the picture appears to fall short of the disc format - which is unsurprising given the limited bitrate.

There's nothing I want more than to be rid of discs, it feels so slow and antiquated, but there isn't a single streaming provider that does audio as good as the 12 year old blu-ray format.

You should check out Vincent’s HDTV year comparison video. He compared ATV and physical using a top of the range oppo player and he stated the difference wasn’t all that great.

What, you mean like you do on 4k disc deals?

Regarding audio quality Apple has said the TV will support Dolby Atmos at some point in the future so it is coming.

Dolby Atmos isn't anything to do with audio quality.

I like and collect both disc and 4K, thus I get the best deals regardless of the medium.

In order to back up your statement, please give me an example of where I've gone into a 4k disc deal and proclaimed that iTunes 4K is the better medium when it comes to quality?

My bad, but then I’m the guy that’s happy listening from my TV speakers that finds 4K from iTunes brilliant.

I’ll let you go and enjoy your UHD disc whilst you post online how superior the sound is. For everyone else this is a good deal with 2 films for £15

I rent my discs from Cinema Paradiso - I get 6 for a tenner. Enjoy your stereo sound.
