Retail price but still worth some HEAT.
been waiting for this at a "reasonable" price, and this went past my trigger point...so thanks (and reasonable is down to perspective)
I've heard rumours that the 11 series of graphics cards will be dropping around August - is it worth my time waiting for the 11 series to come out so the price of these 1060 cards go down, or should I upgrade now? I'm running a 660ti so it will be a huge upgrade regardless.

I wouldn't hang on for a tech rumour. And while you wait, your current card might also drop in value on the used market (unless it's already bottomed out).

I'd say go for it! Not that expensive, so you can't lose a packet, but still relevant, so will hold plenty of value and give you pleasure today.

Do you mind if I pick your brain about the card if that's OK as you sound like you know what you're on about!

I saw this one on Amazon:

smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/…_it

how does it compare to the one OP linked? What are the differences between all these brands selling the same card as its a bit confusing!?

My 600ti looks to have already bottomed out on ebay haha, would get £20- £30 if I'm lucky!

:/NO , i'd wait for the 11xx series .. massive power increases over the existing two year old designs, your 660ti is already owned by the Binsling corp.
No I don't really know .. NVidia have a huge backlog of GPU's to sell , so they may delay release till they can ascertain what demand will be like Gamers VS Crypto etc .Xmas is coming tho .. preceded by Black Friday .. but then again the £GBP vs EUR vs $USD may be in a dire straits by then

PS I am awaiting my free TITAN CEO

Find a rumour intimating when the global shortage on DRAM will end, that's when prices on GPUs will drop.

Realistically, this GPU should be priced at £170! When you think you can get a PS4 - a complete gaming machine with CPU, PSU etc all included, with AAA games thrown in for that sort of price, it puts the price of PC GPUs in to perspective.

Sorry, not an expert.

There’s a cheaper 1060 on amazon warehouse deals just now, also 6gb. Condition described as ‘acceptable ‘. I bought a ‘good’ one recently and it was immaculate.

Warehouse deals have decent warranty and returns policy. Could be worth a punt. Check reviews online first.

Yes true from that perspective I’m still unsure if I wait or buy now haha. £259 is a lot for something that should realistically be £170 like you say and maybe even less if the new series comes out.

My question would be - what’s the difference with all these different makes like ASUS and MSI and gigabyte and stuff?

Basically cooling, each manufacturer can implement their own cooling system which in turn may allow them to change 'speeds' [or allow for better overclocking by the end user].

The easiest way to buy a graphics card is look for one that fits your needs and budget, then spend a couple of hours looking at reviews and specifically looking for problems with the card [ie. coil whine].

You will thank yourself for spending that time researching.
