That seems a good price. But I understand that the paint is expensive.

cheers-reserved 2 at my local store

Looking at the reviews perhaps £10 is expensive:whistling:

Money better spent on quality brushes and rollers.Paint very expensive which fits in the pod

And surely some enterprising person with a drill and a funnel can find a way of getting cheap paint into the paint pod?

Yip, hands up, I could be that person with the funnel!!! I have the larger version of the paint pod, bought one pack of paint for it, and the rest in tins. Just pour the paint from the tins into the paint pod empty pack and it does the same job. They tell you not to do this as the paint is specially formulated..........aye right..... just a ploy to make sure you buy the dearer packs. Have used normal paint in it with no probs. Big one cleans itself, roller etc which is fab, just fill it with warm water and it does it all for you. A tenner for this seems a good deal to me.

If buying this be prepared to do the above, as the paint pods will not be available for ever.

I'm pretty sure Black &Decker and Stanley (probably more) had similar products years ago and you can't get the paint for them anymore.

Other than availibilty of pods in the future (purely my opinion of course), this is a good piece of kit.

The white paint is 19.99, and the coloured paint is £29.99, I just bought a pod of white paint which covered 3 ceilings, and then filled the paint pod with ordinary paint. no problems at all. They just say that there paint should be used because that is where they are making there money. It is a brilliant piece of kit you still have to do your cutting in, but the paint pod makes it really quick and easy, I have the large paint pod.

I had one of the large paint pods. Excellent idea and did huge amounts of painting in a short time. However, the weak part of these is the handle on the paint roller. It connects to the paint line via a 'snap on system' and after a while it breaks (made of plastic). If it were made of metal then it would be a great piece of kit; ended up taking mine back. However, for £10 for the compact version would be worth it, even if it broke after a few uses, as it saves hige amount of time and no bending! Might even get one myself as I need to paint my hall way.

Just go to Dulux decorators centre and buy a good quality ICI decorators roller sleeve.

It will outperform this junk. Don't waste your time.

very good deal as this seems cheap....

however i prefer a paint pad kit from....... Poundland. Comes with large and small pads, & tray. I used one of these to paint the whole hallway. Finished quickly with little mess.

The best bit - the cleaning of the kit - put in black bag, tie knot in bag and put out with weekly rubbish collection!!! BRILLIANT.

Most of these dulux pod things are a stupid gimmick. I do wonder why professional decorators dont use the pods...

i have the large one so the compact will allow us both to paint at the same time. Ghostbuster outfits here we come!!!!

Not for everyone, I think some people would prefer to save money, hence Hotukdeals? One way is to take more time painting..:-D

Brill, reserved and will pick it up and use it tomorrow. Thankyou. Brill find

these have so much potential but the paint comes out to slow.

Saying that i have one and love it for home use. Dont need to move any furniture out as there is no drips.

You need a good two coats though as you cant control the thickness of the paint.

No drips no mess. and just a neater job and saves keep refilling but if you have a empty room with sheets down there is nothing like a roller and a tray which takes like 1 hour a room a ceiling and walls for average house.

Must agree with this - having used an automatic system years ago I gave up and bought a set of paint pads - never used a roller since. Great coverage and excellent results - just give them a few quick pats when new to remove odd loose fibres.

so can this be done with the smaller version?
thanks

So if I bought one of these I could put any paint into it?

Not sure about any paint. I bought one pack for the actual paintpod (the white is the cheapest) and then poured Dulux tins of paint into it. Possibly if a certain type of paint is too thick, might struggle to get it to come through tube.

Yes, it would just be same. You could buy one pack and then use tinned paint to refill. Dulux don't recommend this but I have not had any problems.

thanks for that ,rep added

argghhh so many mixed reviews dunno what to do

good price tho!

Good price, but im not sure if you can get the full range of colours compatible with it.the paint pod size. Maybe you could refill the empty paint pod cans with ordinary cans?

Actually just noticed this:

The PaintPod emulsion is specially formulated to give optimal flow through the system, splatter-free application and an ultra smooth finish.

100% agree, I have a purdly roller, as recommended by a pro painter, it spreads paint evenly, better than the ipop:santa:

If anyones confused then just buy it and use normal paint or paint that is as close to as the paint pod stuff. It's only a tenner and I'm sure you'l have used it enough before it passes out on you. If it does decide to not work with different paint (which I doubt would happen) then at least you can be the first one to tel us as no one else has mentioned anything of the sort as of yet!

Does the Compact version do the self-cleaning thing that the bigger one does?

Great price as I paid 25.00 for one of these when they first came out. However... and I hate to be a moaning minnie, it taked forever to clean it. Plus side is that it does cut the painting time in half

Cheers, got to be worth a go for £8 - yes, £8! Don't forget Quidco, £2 for reserve & collect . Thanks, H&R added.

Heat added, went to my local B&Q today, advertised at £34.99 and scanned for £10.00...bargain....

i'm pretty sure you can use anyemulsion, just thin it down a little to be safe

Yeah thanks I read that before just not sure if it is £2 off if you reserve and collect, or is it for just for quidco? Because I can't seem to reserve online.
