As title, the Corel online store has a special on Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 for today (Wednesday 27th) and Thursday 28th May only.

I use this software for editing pics shot with my Canon SLR (Ultimate edition handles .CR2 RAW files) and Samsung pocketcam, and think it's pretty good.

Download edition for £34.99, or pay the same plus £9.00 shopping (!) for the boxed version. Cheapest I've seen the delivered product for before is over £50 so this is not a bad deal for all those new digicam owners out there - this price is cheaper than the upgrade.

Edit: Direct link doesn't want to work, replaced it with link to Store home page where it is (currently!) the banner item. Sorry!

"so guys, about the cover for this years software. How do we sell it?"

"Lets put on a celebrity that looks godawful now, and show the world that our software can make them still look marketable"

GENIUS. So from the looks of things. they got courteney cocks-arquette or whatever her name is. I WILL BUY THIS.

Alternatively you can pick up Paint.net for free from paint.net/ and pay the suggested $12 donation if you like it...

Original Poster

.. or you can download The Gimp for free if you want to; there's lots of graphics products out there covering a whole range of prices and capabilities (and the two variables are unrelated).

This deal is for those people who like or want Paint Shop Pro.

Looks like a pretty good deal. Is it any good?

I want to use a photo editing software that I can also allow me to clean up/edit images like hand drawn sketches that I scan into my PC, so would this be able to help me in that respect too?

this software is great ive been using since version 8, this is 12 but called X2.

ive edited tons of letters and bank statements, oh and created tons of letterheads. joking

its good software. has the ability to improve your pics. one button photofix

I *used* to be PSP fan for many many years, but switched to Photoshop as it is more powerful for photo editing (and much more expensive), however I highly rate PSP and would recommend it from beginner to intermediate users, and pro's that know exactly what they are doing.

If you have spare dosh though, Photoshop CS4 is much more powerful.#

H & R for this product at this price - great deal!

Don't bother; it's rubbish.

I use PSP 7 as it's quick for basic editing. We upgraded to this version and it takes 10 times longer to load (not to mention the buggy update app that runs at load too) and the UI looks so cluttered I've never bothered with it.

I use PSP 7 for basic stuff and Fireworks/Photoshop/Illustrator for everything else.

just thought id check what the price difference between this and Adobe Photoshop CS4

Adobe Photoshop CS4 Full is £557.75

i think this is better lol

Cluttered in what way exactly?

The default setup - the buttons were small and numerous and I just can't be bothered to sort it out after waiting so long for it load (and that's with a 3 GHz Core 2 Duo E8400 and 3.5 GB of RAM!).

My PC is a lower spec than yours yet only takes 11 seconds to load on mine!

11 seconds?! PSP 7 takes 1-2 seconds on mine. I guess when you work with apps all day these things matter. I suppose 11 seconds is too long for something I may only use for a few seconds to a couple of minutes anyway so it's down to my working style.
If it takes 11 seconds for PSP, how long does it take for Photoshop/Illustrator?!?!
