Seems like a good deal to me! Only 10 in stock mind you.
I need some help please, I have two gtx 980ti's sli. Would it be better to get 1 X 1080 instead?
Amazon are also selling it for the same price, as the supplier, if you'd rather avoid a third party seller.
I don't know if it's incorrect details on other cards but this one seems to be clocked at a lower speed (1620Mhz) ?

The 1080 is much faster than one 980 but I doubt it's faster than 2 using SLI.
1x 1080 might be better for your electricity bills though
tempting but on the horizon is something new. I be barmy to buy now unless desperate. decent price though. heat!!

I would wait until next gen however as the 1180 is probably going to be around 1080ti performance if what happened between 9th and 10th gen repeats itself.

I'd keep the 2 x 980Ti's!

Although depends on what you are trying to do? For example I want high fps but only at 1080p, hence I have a GTX 980Ti.

pcgamesn.com/nvidia-computex-gtx-1180-release

People have been saying the same for months. Nvidia have no reason to release new cards in a rush as there is no competition.

The 1180 will have 1080ti RRP just like the 1080 originally did at launch (Both launched at $699 rrp). I doubt we'll see sub £500 until the lower end cards are released. Maybe the 1160.

From above, depending on game and res the 1080 isn't that much of a step up from a 980ti in a lot of circumstances, I have a 980ti machine and a 1080 machine. Personally I would not jump on a 1080 from a 980ti and even more so given the fact it's held it's price for so long. Even if it was being released tommorrow with that price I'd still advise against especially at higher res's.
Nvidia gpus prices are slowly getting reasonable. I will bite it at no more than £350, though as the card is on the market for over 2 years now and high end for not much longer. I refuse to support their high price momentum going just because the situation used to be worse. Do the same and we will see the prices crashing.

Q: When is the next GeForce? A: I'll invite you. There will be lunch. But it's a long time. (Nvidia CEO earlier today)

I said on horizon, but it be expensive Nvidia always are. unless desperate to get a gpu I don't see the point. and all depends on gains
that also might be due to the high stock levels of current generation, saying too much would jeopardize the sales. We will see what's gonna happen, maybe Intel will come to the rescue next year :).
Cheers, ok I will make do with my 980ti's for now.

"Make do (with 2x980Tis)", PC-master-race problems.
We need something to give them a kick up the arse. 2 years on and the same card is pretty crap. AMDs answer late last year was pathetic as Nvidia looked poised to released the next gen until the benchmarks came back below nvidias current cards.
The big jump will likely be the 7nm chips which are due next year in gaming cards.
AMD are previewing a 7nm chip this week or so but that will only be sold for AI chips in cards with no video outputs and will cost around £2k or so.

The Nvidia CEO said today that there will be a long time before they release a new GeForce....

This is what happens when AMD produce 2nd rate products for years.
The lack of competition means Intel and Nvidia drag their feet until AMD wake up.
Fortunately their CPU division has woken up after a ten year doze.

NO HDMI output hmm

  • 3 x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 1 x DVI-D DL
  • 1 x HDMI 2.0b

It took a few seconds to find that info.
great price!

Display port is better, I understand many monitors currently dont have many display ports but still it's supposed to be future proof, i think it has 1 HDMI

You can get converter leads
Nvidia or this ?

When you add it to your basket the price changes. That's the price excluding import fees.

Remember the CEO will lie. There is no incentive for him to give anything away. Stock levels are surely going to be high given the lunacy of the market.

I agree 7nm is the place to be especially if the same dramatic leap between 9th and 10th gen is to be seen again. I can’t quite remember seeing such huge gains in performance. In fact I’m tempted to upgrade simply because I don’t believe we’ll see such gains again and my gtx 770 was already 1 year old when I bought it.

Its not just AMD fault. Its also the barriers to entry in the industry and lack of availability of specialists with the know how of designing and producing cards on a mass scale to compete with team green. Nvidia are just doing what any monopoly does. If we were in the same position would we do any different?

The fact the prices are coming down says to me either the mining hype has finally died down or that people have actually voted with their wallets for a change, or just maybe a new gen is primed for unveiling. I think the later is most likely.

AMD driver support is definitely not something I miss from them. Its not even a contest between them and Nvidia.

Just maybe decent value for a two year old flagship.

It's a risk for a CEO to lie as he can be sued by share holders. The simple and safe option is to not answer. Why risk it when you can deflect.

You seemed to have missed the point. If he lies he can be sued by shareholders. He can toy with the press as long as he says nothing tangible but he did say something specific.

It wouldn’t be the first time someone has opened themselves up to a law suit over across the pond?

On some level, they must not care for law suits because they will inevitably happen? That’s the perception I have of America and its suing culture.
Hello Guys sad to say but i think this card is rly bad because when you touch Clocks temps are going to 80 degrees. For less money you can have 1070ti MSI Gaming 8g with superb cooling and can overlock to stock 1080 performance for only 439 pounds Do not be fooled with low price
