This is such a bad deal. These are not the normal 3060's, these are the all-new Gimped Edition 3060's with less memory and bandwidth than the original. And this wouldn't even be a good deal for the normal 12GB 3060, much less a mini cooler version(which are basically always the worst versions out there).

Sorry OP, but this should be freezing cold deal. Stop buying these overpriced products or else they're never going to properly reduce prices like they need to.

Any easy way to see which is the OG 3060 and which are the gimped versions?

£50 more for the 6700XT is money very well spent.

Are these single fan versions loud?

I've got the rtx 3050 stormx. Not sure if they're using the exact same fan but mine starts spinning at 30% 1000rpm. It's good at 30% but it can get much louder if you're pushing it.
If it's loud on a specific game I use nvidia control panel to set a max fps like 60fps and that keeps it quiet enough for me.

I think experts have pointed out that you should go for a 12GB 3060 since it performs better.

This is a cripled 3060. As mentioned above, avoid - honestly.
Unless space in the case is the single most important issue (this card is literally tiny for a 3060), stay clear.

I would just hold and wait n see for GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6X – GA104 pricing. There is a reason why people are trying to get rid of the worse variants of 3060.
    Seanspeed's avatar
There's no need to wait. These GA104 3060's are gonna perform just like regular 3060's. Maybe in some rare workload that nobody uses they'll have big advantage, but they're generally all gonna be cut down to exactly 3060 specs and thus the silicon die it comes from wont be important at all.

It has nothing to do with anybody selling these current 3060's. If there was motivation to get rid of these existing parts, they'd reduce prices, but Nvidia is refusing to do so, hence the ongoing terrible pricing and lack of real discounts.

Bottom line - nobody should be buying any 30 or 40 series Nvidia products at all until they reduce prices to where they should be at this time. (edited)
