As cheap as I've seen it for a 3gb one, and free delivery; scan normally charges a tenner.

It's a pretty standard model which I don't think is heavily overclocked.

It's not 6gb but then again most of the time you won't need it. There's an interesting video about the topic here:

Don't forget the 3GB doesnt just have less ram it has slightly less cuda cores making it about 10% less powerful in many benchmarks

think I'll wait and get the 6gb card when my benefits come in

I just bought an RX 480 yesterday.... these are pretty much neck and neck, right?

Or should I go for this one?

It's also 20% less money than the cheapest decent 6gb card that I can find. For 99% of gamers @1080p there will be no visual difference between the two cards just a psychological one, a nagging sense of inferiority not born out by reality.

True, but the 3GB hard limit will be a limiting factor going forward so you'll have to forego top texture settings on newer games whereas the 6GB version would be ok with them. As far as GPU muscle is concerned both cards are close enough that a couple years from now it won't matter which one you have.

I would watch that video on the original post.

3gb is enough for pretty much every new game at ultra as of now at 1080p. Newer future games that demand more than this, you may need to accept that the 1060 won't be powerful enough to run at ultra, but not due to vram but because its core speed isn't enough. 1060 doesn't SLI either so it's even more of a moot point.

Get 2 of these instead of that old 480.

Bought msi 6gb 1060 last week for £209, could not be happier, card still on offer.

old 480? The RX 480 is just as good if not better (especially if its the 8GB Model) and 2 of these? You do know that the 1060s don't support SLI

I do, , my RX 480 has multi-GPU support though; Vardx has had his 480 a whole day!

Haha, just preempting buyer's remorse. But from what I see, the two cards are as good as eachother. They leapfrog eachother depending on the game. Plus... I got my 480 for 20 quid less.

Why would you buy this crippled GTX 1060 when you can get the white 8GB RX480 for under a fiver more? oO
