As both Black Friday and Cyber Monday failed us all (excluding the lucky 200 who bagged a 1080 for £499) I've determined this is the best 1070 deal right now.

Card is one of the fastest 1070’s on the market (think it is second after the Gigabyte GTX 1070 Xtreme) but priced at the lower end of the range.

Also, get 1.5% cashback with Ebuyer and bag a free copy of Watchdogs 2.

Hopefully the great performance and reasonable price makes up for the god awful styling and case busting size.

Slightly cheaper

Lower boost clock but if you're spending almost £400 on a GPU and not using software like MSI Afterburner to tweak clocks and fan curves then I will go talk to a wall.

It's £439 on Novatech. Which card are you talking about as it just links to a list of all of the cards?

Happy to overclock but very few are clocked this high out of the box, this is on par with a £469 Geforce Xtreme.

It's the Zotac version. It's just £10 less so not a big deal. That got cold too

it's going to get cold in here.. cyber Mondays a flop!

The link takes me to the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070

It does now you have updated it.

This is a much slower card for £10 less, I can't see how this is a better deal?

I think he's trying to say just get the cheapest one, they all overclock to around the same, unless you get a single fan version.

True, but out of the box this trades blows with some of the £450+ partner cards. Also some people like me might find spending hours tweaking cards for extra bit of performance a pain in the proverbial... I prefer to just plug and play.

Anyway, went an ordered as for me it was by far the best available at this present time. Just thought I would share it with other people who may be a bit disappointed with what was on offer over Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

You are certainly correct about the overclocking-ability of the 10-series cards. For the 970 and 980 etc there were huge differences in overclocking ability between different models. However, proper reviews show this not to be the case this "generation", suggesting that even the standard base speeds push clock and memory speeds much closer the maximum for the 10 series than was the case for 950, 960, 970, 980 etc which could be overclocked a lot more. My current card is a 970 Xtreme, which with a little more tweaking matches 980 speeds, while for my 1070 I won't be investing in a fancy "OC" version, just having a "good enough" fan is fine for the 1070/1080 this gen.

Much Slower? I'd much rather spend £10 less on the zotac model. They both most likely boost to around the same clock speeds before you even manually oc them anyway.

Edit : I don't think its even the premium edition for sale? The benchmarks you have linked is all for the premium edition not the normal GameRock model. Correct me if I am wrong.

Boost clock Zotac: 1683
Boost clock Palit: 1873

Nearly 200mhz difference... for £10

Pretty sure it's not the premium edition which boost clocks are 1873mhz. The normal GameRock model has boost clocks of 1746mhz. Still around 60mhz more than the zotac but both of the cards will most likely boost to around 1900~mhz with gpu boost anyway so I'd rather pay the £10 less imo.

Just to put some input into this "deal". I paid the same price from Scan a while back and it's an amazing card. I wasn't a fan of the blue look as my build is black with a splash of red so I covered it up with black carbon fibre wrap.

This card is silent on idle like most cards now as fans don't spin. However what's amazing is that on load, the card reaches only 59C in my badly ventilated case (I have fans on really low speeds so that they're quiet) which means the fans run at 20% = 500 RPM. 500 bloody RPM! That's hardly even spinning! It makes less noise than my case fans which are spinning at 700 RPM!

I love how silent my setup is and the difference between the previously crowned efficiency king, the GTX 970, is night and day. The GTX 970 was quiet for its time and didn't produce much heat but this GTX 1070 is on another level. No doubt that this will run cooler and quieter than the MSI or Asus variant. No surprise though as it's a monster triple slot cooler. It makes my normal sized GTX 970 look like a baby!

I thought it was a pretty damn good deal! Would have bought it if I hadn't bought an EVGA GTX 1070 FTW edition for £350 from Amazon France.
