£324? Proof?

No I'm not showing you proof. I have no reason to lie, it's not available any more and I don't want to take a photo of my invoice and upload it just to prove it to some stranger on the internet.

You're assuming that I gain any benefit in doing it or want to - alternatively that if I don't 'prove' it I must've made it up.

Maybe next time you want someone to do something you could use an actual sentence rather than just stating the price I paid and 'proof?'.

Why on earth would he\she have to prove it? If it still existed you’d find it on Amazon now. If it doesn’t you can’t buy one anyway.
I bought a 1070 for £335 3 months ago, a water cooled 1080 for £450. Guess what they were warehouse deals and those of us awake find them.

Model number in this deal: NEB1080S15P2-1040J
With all these price drops, I bet 1180 incoming
Makes me Wanna sell Mine,
I was looking at a 1080 but snagged a 1070 for 270+VAT on Amazon last week so sticking with that. Can’t see me missing the extra performance of the 1080 and wanted to give nVidia a shot - everything else is AMD round here for GPUs.

Nail on the head - that is exactly how I found it. It was an Inno3D Chill model, there was also a Palit one for slightly more. Also an RX 570 for £160 and an RX 580 8GB for £182.

Finger on the pulse - but some people just want to be spoon-fed, not that I mind if it's widely available and people are polite when asking.

What is the warranty period with amazon warehouse deals if I may ask please? Good on ya for finding such a bargain 1070!

Not sure, I think Amazon say it's formally 30 days plus manufacturer's warranty but I returned a knackered GPU after 8 months (R9 Fury, got bad HBM) and got a full refund. We do spend a lot of money with them though and are Prime members. I'd rather return it to Amazon anyway; if you ever tried dealing with Gigabyte or Sapphire for a direct RMA, you'll release you might as well just stick the card in the bin.

Gigabyte and Sapphire I had fan failures because they used really poor fans, strapped some Noctua static pressure fans to them for now, looks ugly and won’t last forever but runs fine and not too hot.

True but you wouldn’t buy a new iPhone now when then next one comes out in September. I would be hanging fire on any gpu upgrade
This Dinosaur was released over 2 years ago, about to go extinct why prolong the agony. Save your money for the next gen cards....thats if you can ever get one when they are released, and be an early adoptee and enjoy the benefits.Or dont.

But it will still be an upgrade to many who won't be able to buy a new 1180 (or whatever the latest will be). We have a 980 at the moment and does just fine for what we want it too, so any upgrade for us will be to a 10x0 card rather than 11x0...obviously the longer we wait the cheaper they will be.

Yeah i know exactly what you mean. I sold my 990ti, brought a 1050ti to tie me over....its a great little card if you understand what you have, and the kind of performance you'll get. I'm not pooring good money into old tech, the honeymoon with these Top-Tier cards is over. I'm just gonna exercise a little restraint and patience. PS: Don't listen to what Nvidia say regarding a long wait time for the new cards, they just want to shift old stock.

Paid £750 for a new GTX 1080Ti about a year and half ago, seems like a good deal now looking at prices of GPUs considering, heat for the deal too btw.

Latest rumours are GTX 1180 to launch end of July. Still rumours though unfortunately.

Yeah I heard the same. I think it will be interesting nonetheless as we haven’t had much exciting PC news as of late. I hope it’s sometime this year, surely they can’t stretch GeForce 1000-series for 3 years
Edited by: "plewis00" 18th Jun
Those saying wait for the next gen... what if you need a GPU now? Plus even if the 1180 is any good (and it takes a while for reviews to filter through) there is no guarantee it will be available at sensible prices for some time to come.

This is one of the cheapest 1080s out there at the moment and it happens to be a decent card as well. Only downsides are that it is very thick and hogs basically 3 slots of the mobo.

Got an MSI Aero 1070 (blower style) for £318.50 this morning - patience pays off!

AMD didn’t bother competing and the 1000-series are the most efficient cards you can buy right now, they’re actually at a reasonable price at the moment. Some people don’t want to wait months to play the latest games, or you can buy a card now and also buy a card when the new ones come out - they’re not mutually exclusive!
