Thanks for this lkl265 :santa: Not a bad deal if you're after a plasma screen :santa:

Hi,

Standard delivery for this item is £29.99 however one of these does qualify for the £40.00 discount coupon.

HTH.

899 now :?

Hi, Guess that Dixons.co.uk must've realised that they were selling this with and without a stand for the same price :?.

Don't forget quidco.com, discount coupon posted on HotUKDeals and Egg.com 5% cash-back if you're an Egg customer.

HTH.

I ordered one of these myself last night for £799 (less discounts). Order status says "Security check in progress". Hopefully will get it delivered for that price.
BTW, now they are offering free delivery.

Quick - It's still £799 at Pc-world - delivery is £19.99 - I don't know if there are any partner discounts though!!!!

Too late!. I don't see it there.

It IS still there - just enter 792877 into the search bar!!!!
I got one last night too - managed to get the £40 off and the free delivery!!!!!!

Yes it is. If you search by category and then by make, it doesn't show up.

I believe it's 6% through Quidco........ approx £50 back - more than covers the delivery charge!!!

i have this tv, bought it 7 months ago at £1400 (that was the cheapest then). Its a cracking tv.

Yes, 6%. Lot better than 2.5% from Dixons. Plus any cash back from the credit card.
I used Nationwide CC (only 0.25% cash back, but comes with an extra year's warranty).

I bought the previous 42" model about 17 months ago for £2500! (and that's after £500 price match from John Lewis). The stand alone was £500 (still £500 on JL web site).

:-D > Feeling very happy now!!!!! The same unit (37" plus cab) on ebuyer is £1321 + Delivery!!

* IKL265 - perhaps you should edit the original post now - Point the peeps to Pc World?

What are the codes for these discounts? Can't find them anywhere!

Thanks

Richardson

What are the codes for these discounts? Can't find them anywhere! Thanks

Sorry Richardson - the codes were for the Dixons deal when it was listed for £799 including the cabinet (you can still get it for £799 but with the pedestal stand not the cabinet) the £40 off code was xmas0640 but that is no longer valid, the free delivery code AFD199 is still valid - however as above - Dixons have increased the price of the one with the cabinet to £899.
However, if you go via PC World (search for 792877 in the search bar) you can still get the one with the cabinet for £799 + £19.99 delivery, choosing to go via Quidco will get you an additional £50 off as cashback and as IKL265 says if you have a cashback credit card, there'll be even more cashback to be had!!!!

Good Luck!!:santa:

Ordered from pc world, thanks for the heads up jayhab

Are plasmas not now going out of fashion with the larger LCD models coming in ? Which is actually better for a 37" ??

IIRC plasma burn in is being fixed by the newer ones and a gentle run in for the first 200hrs. For larger screens i understand plasma to be a bit sharper. for an extra 300 peeps should look at the LG 50 incher. 13 inches lads makes a big difference

I am certainly no expert on the subject but, A lot of it is down to personal preference - and depends on what your viewing habits are - if you watch a lot of fast paced sports - football, F1 etc, some LCDs can struggle to keep up resulting in blocking effects on screen - which Plasmas don't have a problem with.... there are many fors and againsts - here is a good article, (although it is from January 06, and more up to date info is probably out there):

cnet.com.au/tvs…htm

This Wiki entry is also good for info:

en.wikipedia.org/wik…lay

Like I said though - lots down to personal preference. That said the fact that this set got the What Hifi Supertest award also goes a long way!! ;-)

Baldmonk - i'm glad I could be of assistance! - I bet you can't wait for delivery (just like me!!)

Looks like Dixons/PC World/Currys are out of stock (at least for Cambridge and London post codes).

Out of stock from the Warrington warehouse too - Yikes! The price on the Dixons site appears to have increased again to £999.99 for the tv with the pedestal stand and £1093.00 for the tv and cabinet stand (albeit with free delivery as standard!)

Still only £799 + delivery from PC World (Tv + Cab) If your local warehouse has got one!!!

Was looking at these today in Currys £799 without stand £999 with, the thing that was worring me is that they have 3 fans on the back and as i watch the tv with low volume at night so i dont wake the wife up could these fans be loud ?

* Just buy her some ear plugs!!!

I don't think they can make their minds up - It's back to £899 at dixons again!

Ahhhh frollocks now £999 at PCW

ok, so £899 with free delivery at dixons it is then!

code coop20 gets you £20 off if it's still valid (should be)
Egg credit card gets you 5% cashback

All depends if they've got one in your area though!

You can get this for £799 from Currys or £720 using free del and 10% discount code, only has a pedestal stand mind, gonna have another look at it today, io think this will be better than a 37" lcd

Good call deanos! - Just bear in mind the weight of it, if you're going for the pedestal stand, make sure whatever it will be sitting on can take the weight!
