Once you HAVE a 42" you'll be wanting a 46"... 50"... 52"... 55"... 60".... :-D

Took me a couple of years to talk friends into a bigGER screen (they went from 26" to 32" first), but now they have a 42" they would NEVER have gone to 32" again, and now say they might have gone 46" :w00t:!

Cheers now to find someone with a costco card

Looks good to me! I know new technology 's out all the time but is it worth hanging off until new sets with Freeview HD are released?

What a great price! My mate just bought this tv from Richer Sounds getting them to price match this older deal (hotukdeals.com/ite…-mo) for £829.

Apparently, these models are no longer being made so, if you can get your hands on one, it's a fantastic tv for the money!

For those that are not desperate for a TV right now you might as well wait a few months for the new Panasonic range to be released. The new TV's will utilise Pioneer Kuro technology thus giving an improvement in black levels compared to the current range. There's a good chance the processing power will have improved as well. For those that can't wait.. this is a good deal.

i think thats what he said, you have to be a member to shop at costco, you cant just walk in off the street ,you can shop WITH a costco member but the last time i did this the member had to pay for his/her guests purchases due to potential fraud issues with non member purchases,it may of changed as ive not shopped at costco for a while because the prices not as cheap as they used to be,worth checking before taking a non member with you before you end up with this on your payment card! jl def will not price match costco as its a members only warehouse!

Yes they will be better, however the price will also be a lot higher on the new sets...

Also if youdo become a member then it may be worth having an executive membership as you get 2% back on your annual spend.
You would get £16 back on this and when you have been once I'm pretty sure most people will go back and spend quite a lot more (executive membership is around £40 - £50).
I have purchased lots of things and their customer service is unbeatable. Anything you don't like or broken take it back and a refund their and then.
Oh and here is a hot deal, hotdog and unlimited coke/fanta etc for £1.22p I think, maybe a few pence either side.

Yes possibly the higher range 2010 will have Kuro technology in them and Freeview HD and possible 3d, but you will be looking at probably £1,500+ for a tv of this size. Plus who knows you might wait 3 months for them only to find they are bug laden flawed gash (unlikely but you never know).:-D

For this TV this is a stonking deal provided Costco have stock of them as they are basically discontinued.

I still think that adding a decent standalone HD PVR is the way to go though Watty as that way you can watch SD on the inbuilt tuner while recording in glorious HD. Let's face it if you plan to record anything in HD you are gonna NEED the HD PVR anways.:)

I certainly think that the manufacturers may try and charge a premium price for the new sets with built in HD Freeview and it is probably going to only be the higher end TV's that are going to have this technology in the early part of the year anyways.:whistling:

Hi mate,

just wanted to know where you got this information. There has been a lot of talk of how the new 2010 Panny's may use Kuro technology, but from what you say it sounds like you have some information that means they definitely will use it

Over at AVForums they obviously have a good deal of experience with Kuro's (I think it might even be a reference set for them), and when looking at the new Panny's at CES they could instantly tell that there was Kuro tech in the new ones.

avforums.com/for…tml

Also, if you go to the 6th page of that thread and watch the embedded video, the guy at the Panasonic stand does hint that there is Pioneer tech in the TV's.

Skip to about 3:30 into the video to hear it.

lovely, thanks mate.

Interesting times

Just make sure you take a van so you can take it home with you. Theyd sell so much more if they could deliver bulky stuff .

Did anyone catch the new tech show on sky - I found it on sky anytime button - it was called unplugged - or something and feature the CES gadget show in Las Vegas - there is some awesome stuff coming out
with everyone going 3d tv - but at the end they showed a new pannie plasma of over 150" and it was described as Ultra HD - or something like that the show is a new rival to bbc - click

here's a few links if you are a gadget fan

You will need a Van or people carrier - I think you are meant to keep LCD's and Plasma's
upright too, so a roof rack probably isnt an option! I used a Ford S-Max to get my 46" TV
home and that just fitted standing up! I do wish CostCo had a cheap delivery service, they'd
sell heaps more big stuff - they sell three piece suites in store, imagine trying to get those home!

they want that out by the time the football comes around again i think, so it might be worth it if your thinking to go HD anyway, plus the price on these should fall then too .... dont know what plans panasonic have though to update, so you might be waiting longer than you want, but in the past panasonic have been fairly fast to update tuners etc

I own this TV and in my opinion it's BRILLIANT and at this price it's an absolute bargain.

Whilst I can uderstand those that say "Wait and see the new range for 2010", when it comes to tech gear you can carry on saying that year after year as something better always comes out ... but you'll probably have to pay a premium for it. When you feed the TX-P4615G with a HD signal it realy shines, the BBC program 'Life' is a good demonstrator but whack on a Blu Ray and the TV really struts its stuff. I've watched ESPN HD sports broadcasts (Football, Gridiron and Basketball) and again, the picture quality is great. Football on SD is OK but the BBC coverage is better than the awful ITV feed. Still, I'm going to get a dish and hook the TV up to Freeview HD as it has a built in decoder.

I don't think anyone has mentioned (apologies if they have) this TV's DLNA networking facility. Mine is hooked up to my home network and I can access pictures and movies store on my PC / nework drives. So I can access my stored movies without having to use my (noisy) Xbox 360.

So to sum up, if you're after a 46in HD TV with built in Freesat HD, networking capabilities and great screen, the Panasonic TX-P46G15 is a TV you should seriously consider, especially at
