Omg..... go away....... absolute RUBBUSH.

I’ve got a 55” oled and only 1 working eye , and can easily tell the difference.
The five movies for those interested, are:

- Spider-man: Homecoming
- Baby Driver
- American Made
- Underworld: Blood Wars
- Transformers: The Last Knight

(I've listed them in order of preference, although I could've stopped after the first one)

Second HDMI is for audio only. It’s for people who have an older amp that can’t pass through 4k. So you can send 4k to the tv and lossless audio to your amp.

Just to let everyone know lossless audio via video containers is not supported over the USB port. This applies to every current 4K Panasonic model.

Tempted by this, I've had a 4K TV for over two years but I'm yet to watch any true 4K media on it.

What TV did you use? Was is set up correctly? And did you have use of HDR and WCG?
Most 4K HDR blu rays impress and some blow me away with how good they look.

Something not right here at all. I stream 4K from amazon and it’s beautiful. Something definitely not right with your setup
Purchased this package just before Xmas.Had it sent to my local Newsagent as I was away over Xmas and New Year.Unfortunately,Newsagent refused delivery and sent back to Zoom.
Telephoned Zoom and spoke with extremely helpful lady who arranged next day delivery to my home address.First Class Service from Zoom and very pleased with the product

I agree. I have a 55" lg oled. I've been watching some 4k HDR rips, some of them only 3gb & they still looked awesome. How do the ultra blu rays compare to the 4k rips?

3GB? The real thing will be worlds apart from your less than legit sounding downloads the sound must be terrible on a 4K movie compressed down to 3GB...
How much more of an improvement/difference will this player be compared to a PS4?

I imagine they'd look better, especially if the rips had compression artifacts. Assuming the rips are from UHD Blu-ray discs, the codecs would be the same, H.265, so the rips will be heavily compressed rather than using a more efficient codec.

You can't play 4K Blurays on a PS4...

The PS4 Pro will output games that support it at 4K but there's more to the final image than just the player (source material, display, AV receiver, etc.).

In raw technical terms a 4K image is made up of 4 times as many pixels as a 1080P image (4K resolution is 3840x2160, 1080P is 1920x1080) but there are other benefits to 4K media such as HDR, superior audio formats, etc.
Does this only output uhd and not true 4k?

I don't have the 391 so pls take with a double pinch of salt, but the 700 manual claims that the second HDMI circuit (without video) isolates the signal to provide better audio quality - I do detect a slight whiff of ******** from Panasonic on this - but that's what they claim - if you ask me its a bloody nuisance because the first thing I did when setting it up was insert the telly cable into the wrong sockets and could't understand why there was no picture....

Does this only output uhd and not true 4k?

Consumer grade players and displays (even expensive ones) all tend to generally be UHD (3840x2160), Cinema 4K (4096x2160) is as the name suggests typically reserved for the cinema.
Does anyone know if this supports Dolby Vision and Atmos/DTSX? I just need a basic player as LG Web OS has most apps and have Fire TV, but definitely needs to play all the formats the TV supports

Cheers. Shame it doesn't have it, wonder if it will likely get it at some point through firmware update.

Seen any other UHD blu-ray players and movie bundles, with DV support?
Can anyone who has bought this confirm that it has an optical output as its not listed on the zoom website but is listed on the Panasonic page.

Don't think they'll be one at this price point unless Dolby stop demanding a licence fee for supporting it and it's unlikely to be included in any future firmware update for the same reason but this player may get HDR10+ at some point. The player is certainly capable of supporting DV as it uses the same HCX processor as the Panasonic DP-UB820EB which does include it.

The Sony UBP-X700, LG UBK90 and LG UP970 are some of the cheapest (£170-200) 4K players supporting DV but none of them are anywhere near as good a deal as this bundle. The only other bundle I've seen is the Samsung UBD-K8500 but they're sticking with HDR10+ on most, if not all, their players (understandable as they are a co-developer of the standard).

It remains to be seen how much HDR10+ content comes out, theoretically there should be plenty as it's free to implement and is backwards compatible with HDR10 decoders but it depends on the studios to actually bother sticking it on the disk.
But wait - does this support 3D Blu-Rays / UHD? That's the future, right?
UHD and 4K are interchangeable terms - they both mean the same thing.

Yes this player will play 3D disks but they're a dying format now the novelty has worn off (most manufacturers are no longer making displays that support 3D playback), 4K is here to stay though.
