Panasonic are currently offering a 5 year warranty on their LCD & Plasma TV's if purchased in-store from an authorised dealer.

For example, yesterday I purchased the Panasonic TX32LMD70 from Sound & Vision in Bolton for an excellent price of £554.70. I was then given a form to submit directly to Panasonic for the extra warranty coverage - in my opinion an excellent deal!

exactly.

JL have also narrowed their policy and willingness to comply with their own conditions lately - and from my experience have extremely poor customer service skills in their undersales department (though I can not fault the rest of their staff's willingness to help whatsoever).

The Free 5 Year Guarentee offer from Panasonic does not apply to online retailers, only selected shops.

I bought a panny 42" about 18 months ago from them and found them very helpful.
Went into shop with printouts on Wednnesday
received phone call from undersales dept on Thurs afternoon and paid for tv over phone
Recieved call on Friday informing me tv was in local warehouse and I would get delivery on Monday
Got delivery on Monday and saved £420 and got 5 year guarantee?

ps this is not an advert ha ha

That is not the same offer. Empire Direct give extended warranties if you register (and pay £20) for its loyalty card. This thread is about the Panasonic Free 5 Yr Warranty from some (non-online) retailers.
