500 series and GX680b are Vestel.

This is a Panasonic.

Not that it's any better than the Vestel models though. Picture and sound quality are pretty bad on the GX700b unfortunately.

The picture quality I found to be quite decent on my older Panasonic (Vestel) but it was the software that let it down annoyingly.

It's usually the software that lets down Vestel sets, being laggy or freezing. Their reputation and return rates would be much better if they could just get the software fixed. The picture quality on them is usually pretty good for the price.

Yes so many tv's have bad software!
I have the 40 inch version on the same series. Really like the deep black colour and sound quality is decent.
It needs tweaking the colour from settings.
Only downside is that the picture quality is slightly off when you look from a sideward angle which I think is common unless you buy OLED
I have the version from 2 years ago EX 700B , really good TV, and it will be made by Panasonic
The 700 is mid range.

This is very hot.

I had 55" FX700 model and it was really good, a bit closer to 'movie' quality compared to simmilar priced Samsungs, LGs etc. for me. Black parts I'd say suprisingly great for an IPS. A bit dark though and glossy panel, not great for sunny room, and The worst part was the software. Image processing was really good. It was also quick, the TV started in 2 seconds literally, but it was the only pro of it, with quite a lot of cons. Not many apps, not great operation of existing apps, browser almost unusable. And the remote... Well, still the same as in other Panasonic that my mum bought 12 years ago, but with one key switched to Netflix. But still not good for 21st century. If those things are covered in newer GX700, it can be quite nice tv for the money.

Yes you do wonder why they don't update the remotes more I have HD Samsung from a few years back still the same as today's remote!

Yes all VA panels are like this need IPS for better angles.

But with IPS he could loose blacks it's worth checking because some manufacturers put different types of panels (VA and IPS) to the same series, depends on the panel size, so for example 40" may be VA, but 55" with the same number can be IPS. But as I said, IPSs from Panasonic seem to be quite good at reproducing blacks even compared to some VAs. For me in 55" FX700e it was better than in my new LG UM7400, which is also IPS. LG wins in other colours, software and brightness, so in my sunny room it's better now, but feel less 'cinema-like' than Panasonic to be honest.
