They aren't based in the UK and the shipping date is the 14th of January so bear that in mind. Everything I have ordered from them has arrived in good time and has been as described. I know some people have had issues with this company and I'm sue they will tell you so, but I personally have not had any no issues buying anything from them in the past.

Peep show. Please be careful people.

Not sure this will be a good low light or night time performer. No IR illumination. So choose your application carefully.

Yes, it doesn't have some of the whistles and bells of the dearer cameras like wi-fi and IR but it is only £30. Also you could buy separate IR lights if you wanted to cheaply on ebay.

shame its not the wifi model, but at this price for a Panasonic ip camera - its a bargain

As with any network kit, always change the default logins and disable unrequired services (eg. remote management).

See above. like all things if you leave the default login to admin with no password or the word password you've only got yourself to blame. Nothing insecure about these at all if you can read the instructions and have half a brain cell.

From description take it this doesn't have audio?

Are you not better paying a little more for something that you can pan and tilt from you iphone or similar ? Panning round the room is great to have, as is audio.

if by "Paying a little more" you mean over double the price then yes there are plenty of pan and tilt ones with audio available.

I have two older Panasonic cameras with audio and pan and tilt functions. Unfortunately audio only ever worked over IE and not any other browser (so no audio in Firefox or on my mobile phone). However due to changes in IE11 audio no longer works and Panasonic seem to be not rushing to fix the issue.

So while pan and tilt are useful they add cost. So its a balance between price and usability here.

Personally I have ordered one to add to my existing set-up as I have a location where audio and tilt / pan are not required.

I thought it was closer to 38 quid. also by the time you've hacked together IR lights and some kind of networking you may as well buy one of the 720p pan and tilt WiFi cameras of eBay with IR illumination built in for basically the same price. Like I said it depends on your application. Good for daylight and illuminated scenes.

Could someone recommend a good one that has pan and tilt, wifi and IR illumination pls?

If someone is determined enough they will probably be able to hack my camera and if they do they are more than welcome to look at the footage of my road, but the simple fact is nobody cares about you or your webcam (unless you're stupid enough to not secure it properly) Then it'll be in the Daily Mail.

no pan and tilt, no IR. might as well get your old smart phones and connect them to your wifi and view it via its IP address.

I wouldn't run CCTV over powerline unless you're using low-bitrates or VBR.

Was keen on one of these for myself and these are a great price however there appears to be real issue with these as they are only supported in MS Windows according to the review below. If you are looking to use smartphone or OS X for example you may have a problem but happy to be shown to be wrong. It might be worth reading one of the reviews from:

amazon.co.uk/Pan…4H4

I don't know where to start....this has to be my worst purchase from Amazon ever! It is going back for a refund.

Out of the box, I plugged it in. By default, it randomly grabs an IP address off the network - unfortunately that address was in use by something else, so that didn't go too well. It doesn't default to DHCP before doing that grab, as a lot of systems do. To change the IP address (or use DHCP) you first have to install Windows software just to do that - fine, but I don't use Windows. OK, fixed that...found a Windows machine to use temporarily.

I have a previous old Panasonic camera (the BL-C1) which works a treat. Point the browser at it and off you go. This doesn't work with this camera now, because it needs software installed on - you guessed - Windows. Another showstopper, and one that there is really no need for. Worse, even if you use Windows, you HAVE to use Internet Explorer - nothing else will do. This is not visible from the spec. on Amazon, although it's in the small print if you manage to fight your way down through the rather slow and badly organised Panasonic web site.

So, in summary: it misuses IP addresses; it needs Windows software to configure IP addresses; it needs Windows software to view images; it insists on Internet Explorer.

As said before the 8910 is a good camera, but the resolution is only 640 x 480 and dearer than the Panasonic which has a resolution of 1280 x 720. Here's are comparison of the difference.
