You have to look to at least the CX800 model from 2015 or the DX models for a decent Panasonic. These are cheaply made junk unfortunately.

The 55" CX800 model is around £1000 and a completely different quality of TV, so comparing it is pretty pointless.

The more I read about 4k the fewer reasons I can see for getting one at all. Unless your sat 1.5 meters away from it, or its about 80" you can't tell the difference apparently.
I'm not even bothering with 4k - I'm after a 55"-65" 1080p set.

That's not true. I have a 4k TV and the difference is obvious. Ultra HD Blurays are fantastic.

I'm just going off what I've been reading. I think I'd best go and get a look in the flesh then and see if I can tell the difference.

Nothing wrong with the CX700 range.
I have the 40cx400b and tho it's not very good at movement, it does play 4K YouTube and Netflix.

the passer of that info should of gone to spec savers because even on NON wide colour gamut screens the difference is huge.
isnt SD to 1080p but its very noticable.

but the HDR look alot better than the standard 4k too.
good news for samsung owners though they claim they are upgrading everyones set via fw to HDR.

The Vestal units were Cx300 and Cx400, anything Cx500 up was a genuine Panasonic.
How do you identify the Vestal made TVs?
I just bought an Lg 55 inch 4k that was £739 and has Motion rate 1500.Which i'm very happy with and my other half uses it for gaming...I was going to buy a 55" for £500 but i'm sooo glad I didn't....This telly only has 400 Hz processing rate don't do it...

Watch the 'ultra HD' disc on a decent 1080p set and you'll struggle to tell the difference. If you improve the source for one, you can't compare like for like.

I hope the Sky remotes are compatible. Just had an evening trying codes and suggestions from just about every forum under the sun. The Vestral models simply say Made In Turkey on the back.

Good find. Heat
Good fine , heat added and to the person who said 4K is useless unless your 1.5metres away from , you obviously need to go specsavers

No 4k is real; it's the benefits that are maybe less real for most situations...
Says Panasonic on the front therefore it's a Panasonic . Range Rovers have engines made in Dagenham Bridgend or Chihuahua , does that mean they are Fords ?

Are you disputing that extra detail is lost the further away you sit away or are you saying that your eye sight is so good this does'nt happen for you?

Presumably its much cheaper to produce a low to medium quality 4k panel than a quality 4K panel, as there are so many low to mid quality panels around at much lower prices than quality 4k panels. Also I suspect the tv industry hopes more people buying 4k TVs means more people will take out expensive subscription services.

That has always been a strange argument, people always say it to suggest a 4K image is poorer from distance whilst suggesting 1080p doesn't degrade in the same way. Yes it has bigger pixels but it still will be poorer than a proper 4K image regardless of distance.
Which LG model please?

1080p I assume would also degrade to some degree, but isn't to start with, that much higher than what the human can register. 1080p might well be the sweet spot in TVs for under 60" screens. At least with non 4k screens SD content looks acceptable without having to pay for higher quality subscription services.

If money were no object I would have a high quality 4k panel with subscriptions services However until such time as I win the lottery I would like a high quality non-4k panel for less than £1k with 5 yr warranty.
Viewing distance and TV size is important when it comes to how much extra resolution your eyes can resolve.

4k is probably overkill for most set ups. A decent 1080p set for the same money would probably be a better purchase. Especially because there's a dearth of 4k content anyway.

To be honest 1080p is also overkill too with 720p being more than enough resolution for most set ups...
