A small thing, but a nice

Been looking for a deal on the Canon S95 but still nothing under £300 so have reserved this in the meantime... Thanks OP

Excellent, was looking at getting this for £90 from Amazon, so this saves me a few quid. :-)

Me too! Been looking at the TZ8 for AGES and still wondering if I'll make use of the extra features (Just a point & shoot kind of guy!)
Just reserved Last one in Cardiff. Will wait till all the hungover rugby fans have left and then I think I might just pop down and get it!

Nice one OP... just what the doctor ordered, reserved!!!!!

Good price, bear in mind the FS11 replacement is out.

Excellent price for a Panasonic. I've had 2 Panasonic cameras, they're great. (only upgraded because first one was a 5MP or something so I was updating it).

Excellent, thanks - been looking for a decent handbag-suitable camera for my other half!

Got one reserved in Swansea (Morfa Park) until Monday if anyone wants it btw. I ended up getting one at a different store.

Movie capture with sound, take it this is not HD?

Its not HD.

currys.co.uk/gbu…L-1 says

Maximum video resolution 1280x720 pixels, 30fps

Is this any better than the following :

hotukdeals.com/dea…e=1

It's obviously a bit better but by what margin, have to say totally underwhelmed by the above product, ok I'm used to a far more expensive camera but that said I had a pocket sized point and shoot by Sony when they first became small and it seems a better built camera and movie mode seems miles better even though it's ancient now.

What I am also finding with the above is the transfer speed of the photos/clips to PC are horrendous, is this a trait of the Panasonics or just that model perhaps.

Costco have the FS11 at £92 inc vat, last day of offer today, would that be a better all round bet?

Based on info from dpreview, it looks like the FS42 has no optical image stabilisation (e.g. for low light shots), lower resolution video, slightly worse wideangle and telephoto capability (4x vs 5x overall), and a slightly smaller screen on the back. Not sure if there'd be a night and day difference in picture quality - you'd have to google some comparable image samples I guess.

In terms of transfering images to a computer, it sounds like that's probably by plugging it in direct? I've seen a comment that the FS10 uses a 'full speed' vs 'high speed' connection, which is slower than the maximum you could expect, and I guess the FS42 must use the same. If you transfer a lot of pictures, a decent card reader shouldn't cost more than a few £s and would be quicker.

You can compare the FS10 & FS11 on the Panasonic site (this link might work). Didn't see any major differences except the 12.1MP vs 14.1MP resolution for still images.

This camera kicks ass , has great Macro and the Image Stabilizers are brilliant for flash free photography

And the price is great I paid £89.99 a few weeks ago and my mate £99.99 the week before ..
