Thinking of taking this over my epl5, would the pancake lens fit?. It is the viewfinder I really wanted that is built in to this camera but not the olympus. Any thoughts please

I'd imagine there'd be no issue with the pancake lens as the mount is micro 4/3
I've been looking at this camera and Jessops are doing it for £299.00 after cashback with the 14 to 42 lens. I'm told that you can also use the Olympus lenses on this camera?

I've looked at lots of reviews and for the money it seems a good buy as it has an EVF. Tempted to buy one as would be good for travel photography as the DSLR is bulky. I airways seems to use my mobile phone instead!
Seriously thinking about buying it, thanks!

[edited out the crap ]

the lens on this camera is quite a bit better than the pancake on olympus for quality if not size
you got an epl6 btw

very good deal especially as many people have a crap camera to get that further 30quid off

gx7 with the 20/1.7 prime for only 50quid more at currys
guess it depends on your needs

it would fit but you'd have no stabilisation with it (olympus do … it would fit but you'd have no stabilisation with it (olympus do stabilisation in body, panasonic in lens generally)

The GX7 has in-body stabilisation though doesn't it? So even Olympus lenses should have some stabilisation (unless it only works with Panasonic lenses).

Yes sorry it is the epl6, not sure what to do. The viewfinder would be useful, I even thought about selling the epl6 body and lumix lens to give me a smaller lens with the lumix. Just dont know what I am doing basically

oh yeah so it does - what a dummy

dpreview says this about it though if makes a difference
"The GX7 is the first Panasonic G-series camera to have sensor-shift image stabilization. This allows you to add shake reduction to unstabilized lenses, which not only include those from Olympus, but also lenses from yesteryear (via an adapter) - something further supported by the inclusion of focus peaking. The bad news is that the IS system only activates when the photo is taken, so composing pictures can be a wobbly experience. In addition, the sensor-shift IS system cannot be used while recording movies, which is quite disappointing."

Got one of these for considerably more around Christmas, replaced my epl-5. The viewfinder is a lovely addition, and the picture quality is excellent. A great size too, this is a fantastic price for a wonderful camera. Particularly good with the olly 45mm f1.8 attached
£30 for you old camera doesn't sound much, unless I'm missing something?

If you've got a full frame DSLR, then it's pretty rubbish.

If you're got a crappy compact from a decade ago, then it's a nice bonus.

just find an old digital camera somewhere! I wouldn't trade in your canon eos1ds!

It's worth checking in store, the 20/1.7 is £200 on it's own, nice lens too.
Jessops have this with the very nice 20/1.7 lens + a spare battery & £30 trade-in, for £449 (£369 with cashback).
