I guess the point is that if your movie collection at home is all on blu ray then a portable dvd player will not be much use to you so whether you need the extra definition of blu ray or not at this size is immaterial if you need one to play your discs.

The price however is ridiculous

There is a point to this kind of product, but its screen doesn't even meet the 720 HD spec and thats what makes this one pointless. Decent screens from furture players and a lower price might make them worthwhile and yes with a decent 10 inch screen you'll beable to tell the different between DVD and Blu-ray.
