Panasonic 3D Blu-ray player

Avatar and Titanic promotion is long gone.

Smart enabled but requires a (probably) expensive USB Dongle. Doesn't bother me as I have an XBOX 360 anyway.

£50 puts it in a competitive playing field, IMHO better than the Sony BDP-S185 as this Panasonic has a display on the front.

I just placed my order this evening after receiving an NKU price match approval email from John Lewis earlier today.

Hope this helps someone!

Excellent player for this price. Recommended.

how do I get the price match at jl ?

Bought mine on 31st December on the last day of the Avatar & Titanic offer for £79.99
For £49.99 this is a very good price for this player.
Hot and recommended.

Excellent deal.I have the BDT-110 and it's an amazing player.better than Sony or Samsung machines.

A display... on the front?
Sounds like luxury...
Maybe since the dawn of time.. When did crap like that become a selling point?

Open 2 tabs, one with the Panasonic Blu-ray player on JohnLewis.com,the other with the JohnLewis homepage. On their homepage, in the bottom left hand corner click "Never Knowingly Undersold" then "make a claim" and then follow the instructions from there, it's very straight forward. You'll still need the first tab to copy and paste product codes etc. For simplicity I said I found it online to save me putting details of a branch down. They got back to me within 24 hours but the initial email states within 36.

It was free delivery because technically you still order it at full £79.95 from John Lewis but then get the pricematch (£30) refunded onto your card after delivery. Don't be put off, as long as you have your pricematch reference number in your email they send you then you'll be fine.

I bought one of these a couple of weeks back (paid £75 though) and it's a fantastic player with a stunning picture. Extremely hot deal from me 8).

I know it's not a selling point, I was purely pointing out that when looking at budget blu-ray players (£50ish) that some did not have displays on the front, such as the BDP-S185 by Sony, I think the LG BDP125 also lacks this feature. I wanted to make this point because regardless of your prejudices against this blu-ray player it has a clear advantage over others in this price bracket.

Thanks for your negativity, I hope you have a lovely day, and remember, Jesus still loves you.

John Lewis were selling the DMP-BDT120EB at 79.99, they priced match me in store at 69.99 as that was the price B&M were selling at 2 weeks ago. What JL said was that if any priced match product drops there price further over 28 days after purchase they will also refund the price drop also. So ill be going back in for my £20 refund! ;-)

thanks yes have used once before, price matched the lg 47lm620 tv. But they took three days to get back, by which time is was thinking it could have gone back up.have done the form, fingers crossed they can get back soon.

Am hoping Amazon price match:3

These play from a nas, the dlna thingie seems cack but not because of this player, just in general. I cant seem to remove network drives from it, so I have a list because I have made a few changes.

Is it not the case that JL allow something like 5 price matches off each claim, using a code? If someone could PM me one it'd be great

Doesn't work like that sorry. Clearly states the reference number is for yourself, but you can buy 5 of them. If you had mine you'd still have to pay £79.95 from JL but your pricematch refund of £30 would be denied.

Nice find. Was thinking of getting a Panasonic 3D plasma, this will go with it nicely. Thanks

Top brand, brilliant price. Heat added.

Strange how such a good deal still attracts negatives. If you gave some people £50 they would complain it was 2 x £20 and 2x £5 notes.

Very good player, got one last year with the Star Wars deal.

Thanks for this have given it a try .

CN this play multi region discs? Did or by Ray

I meant dvd or blu ray multi region :-(

Bought this for £65 delivered last month as a Tesco Outlet 'refurb' (it was actually brand new with a slightly scuffed box).

It really is an excellent quality player - much faster loading and more usable than the Sony it replaced.

Fantastic value at this price compared to the BDT-220 model, which is the same but has wifi built in (no dongle needed). That one costs from about £130 up.

Hence this one is a good bargain if, like me, you use Powerline adapters instead of wifi.

Very tempted buY this to go with my 3d Panasonic tv. Just a note to people who want the the power of wifi on it, i bought a non-panasonic wifi adaptor for a TV cost me £25 but works great and saved a lot over the £70 for the real adaptor, so.just check what other ones work

Ironically, a bluray player that's designed to function without a display would be a selling point to me; my hifi, PVR and DVD player are all in a cupboard behind a wooden door (with an IR tansmitter). Though I suspect the on-screen display will be exactly the same on both.

great find

A safer* option for wi-fi enabling this player without buying the expensive official dongle is to buy a wi-fi range extender such as this. Then connect the player to the range extender using an ethernet cable. This would cost ~£20, a lot less than the official adapter which costs ~£50-£55 on Ebay.

* safer as in more likely to work and without risking money on a USB wifi adapter with unknown compatibility.

excellent price for 3D!! does xbox 360 play 3D movies??

Hence the "checking which ones work", i got one i knew was 100% compatible and i paid £25 which for me is better, a range extender is good if you want/need that i prefer not having yet another plug socket used, so i the replacement usb wifi adaptor for size and no added power needed

Had this on my Amazon wishlist at £79.99, well chuffed to be able to buy for £49.99

Have sent price match request to JL

I really want a Panasonic Blu-ray for the picture quality but the show stopper is the limited apps, in particular no Lovefilm. Panasonic really do need to get this sorted!!!
For those wanting the best of both worlds, I suggest of the 2012 Blu-ray players I would recommend LG for both picture and Apps (BP520 or BP620). Avoid Samsung they have a slow apps interface and relatively poor picture quality compared to others.

has it got the. ability to play AVI and Mkv and MP4 files ???

I'm going to get a SMART PVR so the lack of apps and WiFi on this aren't a deal breaker for me. £50 was my budget for a blu ray player, this had the bonus of being 3D

Will this do DVD up scaling?

I have a smart tv, so im not to bothered about the apps on this, just wanted a good 3d bluray player, this seems to be reviewed well. Still waiting for jl to get back

I tried four BM Stores but couldn't find one anywhere. When I asked the staff they all said we can't check other stores as every store sells different items.
