The Panasonic DMP-BD45 offers a great introduction to the joys of Panasonic Blu-ray players.

Taking the essentials from the DMP-BD65 but cutting out some of the features, makes the DMPBD45 probably the best value Panasonic Blu-ray player to date. Although a budget machine, Panasonic have ensured that, whilst the 45 may miss out on a few features, performance is as strong as ever.

With Panasonic being a major contender in the Blu-ray market you'd expect something special from their latest range. As with their more expensive models, the DMP-BD45 features a series of unique Panasonic technologies that gives it a class-leading picture quality. Featuring PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus, the DMPBD-45 precisely processes each pixel of the Blu-ray disc to give stunning picture clarity. Another exciting picture enhancement is Panasonic's 4:4:4 picture processing. When used with a compatible VIERA TV, this feature processes each pixel in both horizontal and vertical directions for greater image realism and stability. In short, whatever the film, you'll find the Panasonic DMP-BD45 delivers a first-rate picture performance.

Although pared down, the DMP-BD45 still features some connections not found on rivals. Both SD card and USB inputs are standard and give full compatibility with a wide range of digital media. The HDMI socket supports Deep Colour, x.v Colour and High Bit rate Audio.

When it comes to power-up, the DMP-BD45 is quicker than ever with boot-up power now available in under a second. With reduced power consumption, the DMP-BD45 is more environmentally friendly than before. It's also more compact, with a shorter case making it easier to fit into a range of different cabinets or shelves. Sleek styling means it's just as good looking and as well-finished as the more expensive models.

If you just want a Blu-ray player to play discs, pure and simple, then the Panasonic DMP-BD45 is one economy worth making.

Good price. Now the hunt starts to find them in a store!

I'm always a little dubious about richer sounds deals. They will advertise nationally offers that they have, even if that 'offer' is one item, in a damaged box, with no remote with only one available in a store somewhere

total and utter bargain !! great find

would be nice if it had Ethernet connection

These Richer Sounds deals are liking trying to find hens' teeth.

I'm still very happy with my 100% perfect Tesco Outlet Sony BDP-S370 at £79.

red hot deal

Anyone checked for stock in or around london?

9 in Watford if that helps anyone

I had one of these and it was horrendous. It kept jumping and crashing when i tried to watch DVDs it played BLU Rays perfectly. It took ages to load up a BLU Ray disc. It dosen't recognise most files of USB.
But if you just want a player for only BLU ray then this is an ok deal so not voting either way on this.

they wont have any ...cold

That's a poor reason to vote cold

its a fantanstic player in terms of bluray/dvd playback but beware no internet media playback (youtube, ondemand tv etc).it does not even have network input.so very basic model.

Signed up to the VIP lounge 4 days ago and still haven't received my £10 off instore email voucher. They refused to knock the £10 off a £150 player in store, balls to Richer Sounds.

That's a poor reason to vote cold

dims**t - if they dont have like the last deal....bet these are returns/seconds......like before....then its not a deal....and why do assume i voted cold.....dims**t....for the record, i didnt vote....anyway for your comment ive now voted cold

my personal objection to richer sounds is the fact they advertise online , but hardly ANY of thier products can be bought online ........ which i think is wrong

I bought one of these @this price last month.
Love it.

However, if you want one at this price phone local branch ASAP as they only had offer on for very short period last month - either reserve one or order one in, but make sure they note the price - I had a bit of "debate" to get mine @59.95 as price went up 2hrs after I phoned to order & they didn't make note of price quoted at time of order.

Never got anything they advertise. Cold for me.

@gchild is very helpful in pointing out that there are 9 available in Watford store, yet people declare that there won't be any available?

I am adding a couple of degrees of heat and looks like the deal is doing pretty well despite these people who can't be bothered to read the thread.

I'm going by experience in the Glasgow store, which is the only one anywhere remotely near me...and they have never had any of these offers yet, just try to palm you off with a more expensive model and an extra warranty to go with it. Terrible advertising methods.

But they do give out free lolly pops to over 18's!!!

Hi there,

I read some of the comments made on this thread regarding our deal of the day and stock availability and wanted to reply.

As with all of our advertised deals, Sunday’s Deal Of The Day for the Panasonic DMPBD45 was indeed a genuine offer, with stock available from the vast majority of our high street stores, with more stock available to order from our central warehouse should any store sell out.

The only exception to the above is with end of line clearance deals, which can be, by definition, limited in quantity. However, we always advertise these deals as “last few to clear”, and clearly list live stock availability on our website for customer s who wish to buy from their local store.

Of course, if any forum member has had problems getting hold of Sunday’s deal from their local store please PM me and I will arrange to get one of these for you.

Many thanks,

John Clayton
Operations Director
Richer Sounds

They do the DMPBD75 for £69.95 now.
