The £99.99 deal for the DMR-EZ27EB-K model has expired (I guess play sold out) so I have found another similar recorder at the same price. It only scales up to 1080i or 720p (not 1080p) but it does still have HDMI output and works with all DVD formats including DVD-RAM with chase-play to watch while recording.

DVB-T Tuner (AND UHF Tuner)
HDMI
SD Card Slot
Super Multi Format - Record & Play ALL DVD Formats
Timeslip Functions: Pause TV , Simultaneous Record & Play, Chasing Playback
Super Easy GUI
1 Sec Quick Start & Record

Here's a link to the old deal for the ]DMR-EZ27EB-K

If the reviews on Play are anything to go by, this is a DVD Recorder to avoid as it seems to have reliability issues - dying within 1-2 years.
I will have to do a bit more review hunting before I even consider buying this one. Does anyone have any experience with this kit?

I have one and it has been fine. I'll flog it to you if you like, as I've just bought a Panny DMR-EX78. Let me know if you're interested and I'll set up a proper FS thread.

I have to say that I'm surprised. I have had a couple of Panasonic DVD recorders with hard disks and I've never had a problem with either of them. Currently I have a ]DMREH60D which I've had since September 2005 when it was the first DVD + hard disk recorder with Freeview and cost £432.93
