Ignore the £59.99... The average price since it launched is £31.38, so this deal price is basically just £5 off not £29 off. This was also £24.98 during December.

Bargain ordered cheers for posting
Looks good! The review on amazon lol
Been my go to beard trimmer for years. On my second one now but the last one lasted a long time and I bought it for around 42 quid, so this is a deal.
Can you cut your hair with this also?

It comes with this plastic guard for use on the body. Apart from that and the silver colour I didn't see any difference. I'm guessing that it may be more powerful though or might have a better battery or better sharper blades. I noticed it mentions "durable stainless steel bales" and "sharp cutting edges" that "quickly cut even thick and hard hairs" for that one, but doesn't mention that for the GB42 model.

Thanks for the prompt and detailed reply @Master_Yoda

Might wait for a deal on the GB52...

Edit: Looks like I just missed a deal (expired 09/02/20) when it was available from Amazon for £26.37.

Have a read of the Amazon customer review by "Mr Harry Taco’s". Pure gold!
How does this compare to the Remington barba beard trimmer if anyone has used both.
i use a Remington beard trimmer instead of a shaver without the guard as i always like a thin layer of stubble. Can this be used like that?

or is somethign else better?
The GB80 looks a better all rounder for £32.99 “saving” from the £79.99 RRP

Yes, the Panasonic ER-GB80 also cuts head hair in addition to beard and body parts. 40 settings compared to 20 on the two lower models. Only goes down to 1mm (as opposed to 0.5mm on the lower two models if that’s a deal breaker for anyone) but will go up to 20mm (10mm was the maximum length on the lower two models).

Was available for slightly less (£28.99) than the current price three months ago.

Good spot...didn’t realise the cutting length was different.
I've had this a number of years now, and it is decent. The difficulty I've found with a number of these brands is that their blades aren't sharp enough. You cut with the guard at a specific height but you need to go back and forth many times and in many different directions to catch all hairs to make sure they are cut at the same length. But of a ball ache if you ask me. How much do you have to spend on one to get a dependable job done and quickly?
This shaver works wonders.

I was going to try purchasing a barber quality facial hair clipper from Wahl. They're 60 to 70 quid, but I'd rather have something that does the job properly, without taking ages. Their head hair clippers are legendary, and it is the make you always see inside a barber shop.
Can a regular shave be had with this to leave stubble?
Fantastic price.. but what on Earth is that first top review?!
can this be used without the guard for a closer trim?
Does this perform well on armpits and downstairs areas?
I've had the next model up from these for a while and they are excellent. I do my hair with them as well.

The only difference is the colour and the extra body attachment. Here’s a screenshot of the comparison on the amazon product page:

Yes, I also have the same question
Thanks for posting; we have added this to the Highlights section
I've got one of these, they are rubbish.
Any good for the downstairs tentacles
I was going to get this last week, but ordered the Panasonic ER-GB60 for £24.93 on Amazon, still the same price now, which is cheaper than this deal. But have seen it even cheaper on dealmaniauk.co.uk £22.99 plus free shipping.

Panasonic ER-GB60 and the Panasonic ER-GB80(£32.99 Amazon) are the same trimmer, only difference is the extra attachments if you need them.

IMO Panasonic ER-GB42 does look better with the all black design.

Reckon this ones good for my... Other beard?
Purchased this, seems good so far, apart from the instructions..
Do Panasonic seriously expect people to unscrew this cover to apply oil "Before and after every use"?!

I'm pretty sure someones messed up the instructions

What put me off buying was the crap battery. None of these Panasonics have lithium ion batteries.

Careful, Wahl is not so good like before, specially medium and low range. Lots of customers and users are replacing them with another brands.

So, the only thing missing from the ER-GB52 is the plastic body trimming attachment?

I was going to look at higher end, because all the cheap things I've purchased over the years have cr%p blades that don't cut
