Got quite good reviews on Amazon. Charge for 1 hr to get 54 mins shaving is a good point.

Good shavers these and this model has the fast linear motor.
Vestel ?
Thank you - ordered. Even cheaper than the one at aldi recently.

WTF? A utility company that's now a retailer too? What next, will I get a home telephone handset from B.T. or a bank account from my supermarket?? LOL! Like that'll ever happen!
Rental/landfill shaver unfortunately. £35 for replacement foil and blades! By contrast the foil and blades I recently bought for my Remington shaver cost £15 the set. One reason why I bought Remington was because replacements for my previous Braun would have cost £25. <- Might have been Philips. Whatever - unethical ripoff.

Just completed checkout, and apparently it's 8:26 AM in... Scotland (according to my receipt) or wherever the SSE shop is based... Eastern Canada? On an oil rig in the Atlantic?? Lapland???

NOW he tells us!
Will the trimmer work indefinitely at least?

Sorry Judging by the number of people who think that any deal on disposable batteries is hot, I didn't think many people cared about anything beyond headline price.

I don't know how long the trimmer will last but replacement blades don't generally seem to be available for these things. That may be because they're considered a secondary function which will get far less use and hence wear.
Arrrgh! I've just bought one from Amazon for £37.57, it was delivered yesterday. Would I be able to return it? amazon.co.uk/gp/…s00

Sure if you haven't used it already. Even easier if fulfilled by Amazon.

The manual worryingly states the battery is only intended to last for 3 years! optics-production.s3.amazonaws.com/pro…pdf
Hot and ordered! I owned the 5 blade version in 2001 costing me £570 yes that's £750 used it for 3 years and still sold it for £100 on eBay ... These series of shavers are really good specially if you get something for £20 then I can't complain thanks for posting this
Need to add to my above comment, the only reason I sold my previous one was because I couldn't find spare parts cheaply specially the blade and foils costing nearly £100 at the time ... But at £20 surely I can afford throwing it away after a year or two but this would be mainly used for travelling

Well, if the system for that is as basic and simple as the one in Wahl trimmers (and at the price, I assume it must be), it should theoretically last for the life of the machine (or the battery, I guess) - just a sharp edged, multi-slit steel "chunk" vibrating underneath another similar but bigger, steel chunk. My Wahl trimmer would have lasted for ever had I not dropped it in the sink and cracked the edge of the non-vibrating "chunk" - clearly very hard steel! In fact, they seem to get better as they age, because the surfaces become more closely matched as they wear! I know as I replaced the cracked blade and it never cut as well until many, many months later.
Can any owners confirm this is how the trimmer is on this?

Nothing less than about £30 is there though? And the foil isn't even titanium so probably won't last as long.

Thanks, it is fulfilled by Amazon so I'm going to return it. I bought it for my nephew who has special needs, he's broken his last one which he has only had for just over a year
Ordered - Thanks op
not sure about this model but I have an Panasonic RF31 and it's excellent.much better than anything Philips and Braun at that price range.Panasonic shavers in general are some of the very best.but then again they have low,mid and high end range.major difference it performance and shave quality.

Good deal !
I've had a Panasonic electric shaver for over 15 years and it's still going. The ES4025. The only reason I am looking for a new shaver is one metal piece of the foil has gone. When you think how quickly disposable razors last (weeks) and these electric foils are still effective for years it is amazing. Battery is still OK too. Not as it was when new but that's to be expected.

Bottom line with my Panasonic is that it will last long enough that you'll replace the razor before any parts.

Unfortunately using a brand name as your sole criterion for prediction of reliability means very little except that you're playing into the hands of marketing. And a sample of one is statistically insignificant too. Technology has changed out of all recognition in 15 years so the current models might be far worse and/or their competitors might be far better.

All true. Still, the man's had the same Panny shaver for FIFTEEN YEARS! That's value!

I simply don't believe that would be possible without replacing the blades and foil several times.
