This runs on the Joip VOIP network. Skype isnt supported. Looks like this will be another Betamax/ VHS style battle. Im going to stay out of it until its resolved. Voted cold

will wait for Kommunist's take on this offer.

Mine arrived today! It is configuration locked to the joip network, which is limited/free for 3 years, I have managed to use it with my asterisk machine at home though.

If you are technically minded enough, heres a howto: darkskiez.co.uk/ind…isk

this is now £59.99 with the voucher :O

Well... I can't make up my mind on it as I can't find some info on rates. If you buy this, do you have to pay 3.99 (+ VAT I guess?) per month for 3 years or is this included in purchase price? What tariff is it on?

Otherwise, their prices are quite good, comparable to Betamax (not THAT Betamax, Syd :)). Still, IMHO, a combination of Sipgate/Betamax is a winner pricewise.

There is no war between Skype and SIP-based operators - Skype lost it when they decided to use proprietary protocol, IMHO. The SIP became de-facto standard of the industry and pretty much all providers (except for Skype) are using this protocol.

I am not going to buy this as my system is up and running and I am quite happy with it. The Zoom box is very good and reliable, works with my Siemens DECT phones, so why replace it?

Thanks, that was an interesting reading.
