Watched the video on Argos web page and my guesstimate would be less than a brick more than a phone.

May I asked why?

Thanks.

I found this video review quite illuminating:

Looks like the camera suffers from not supporting 1080P recording (i.e. it's only 1080 interlaced), no optical image stabilisation and a pretty average microphone. However, for this price, it would still seem like a good entry level option.

I'm not up on techy stuff but we recorded daughters school play and my husband was v disappointed with the quality and blurriness even on HD mode. we had gone with what we thought was a very good brand.

Good for the ice bucket challenge? oO

How much would I have to spend to get a camcorder that has external microphone support?

No but the camera replaces the camcorder with much higher quality in many cases

Be careful to check on the price of extra/replacement batteries i bought the Panasonic V720 and there are no generic batteries available for the sucker and the genuine Panasonic battery costs £60. Last time i will buy any panasonic kit ever, no wonder there are going bankrupt.

Was going to buy a small screen for my Sony Action Camera (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-AKA-LU1-Handled-Screen-Action/dp/B00ANHFKVO/) but may aswell pay more for this with additional features

Cheers

nice

Just bought one yesterday. Really good quality for the price if you ask me. Lighting conditions weren't great, but here's the video I just made with it (turns out there's one setting that makes it higher quality): youtube.com/wat…eiQ

Also got a micro Sandisk and adapter 16GB for 13.33 with the camcorder. Had to show them the deal in the catalogue for other camcorders though (Has to be compatible model but doesn't show up on the system)

OOS in Bradford. Saved 90 quids

Ah, but then again try with your phone indoors in low light. That's when the difference happens...

no image stabilisation.....my suggestion is forget it....for a video camera this is a MUST HAVE FEATURE. especially for the novice user.
after all these are for watching later and nothing worse than shaky camera image.

Make sure the battery is for the HC-V110EB-K model, there are 2 different HC-V110 models and they use different batteries.

It has stabilization just not the optical version which at this price point is to be expected.
