Does this make the existing TV sound better or does it also add realistic and noticeable cinema surround sound to movies etc?

Original Poster

Yes it will make your TV sound quality better. Slim telly's don't have great sound which is why we now have sound bars.

I can't imagine the bass is much good without a separate sub woofer, anyone got one?

I'm gonna get bankrupt, because of hotukdeal. Bought one. Lol

So is it really one one hdmi port free after you plug it into telly? Would have been good to connect xbox 360 and sky box into it.Seems good for price,Heat added.

Shame it's only Silver! Voted hot as looks a good deal.

You could look at a cheap HDMI splitter

You're both confusing me, don't you need each item to connect to your TV for the picture? I'll have to look at the manual for the different connections. I only have 2 HDMI's on my TV one's for my Youview box and one for Blu-ray, I don't mind unplugging the blu-ray and switching as I hardly ever use it but hopefully there's another option.

Just got myself one, bargain!

Gone to the 170 page and this update isn't on there so thanks again for putting the links, wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

Links for the manuals etc for this model arre:

For me there's 4 dialogue settings that I'm very interested in. I live in a flat in a converted house, middle floor so I have to be careful and I'm having a problem understanding dialogue for example in movies because the sound varies so much one minute they're whispering the next minute it's crashing action noise. Looks like you can also adjust the subwoofer output similarly and there's 6 presets. Should be able to find a good level with all the options.

HDMI Switch is what you need, tesco sell one for about £10.00 that auto switches to what device is powered on.

Apologies, I didn't mean to confuse you. If you've got a HDMI splitter then you connect that to one of your two HDMI inputs on your TV and then you connect all of your devices to the HDMI splitter. You can then switch between devices using the HDMI splitter remote. If you've got an audio optical out on your TV you can then connect your TV to the optical IN on the soundbar using an optical cable. Whatever device is channeling through your TV will then be output to the soundbar. Hopefully that makes more sense.

Here's one from EBay that will auto-switch with whatever device you switch on first (£6.95 delivered, EBay Premium Service):

Can I connect this to the Computer? I.E via a 3.5mm line cable?
Would this be better than 2.0 PC Speakers in the same price category?

More than 80% sold now! I am looking at this as I have a Panasonic TV but all this talk of HDMI ports is confusing me also. If I connect the TV to the sound bar using an optical cable will everything will work fine as it is now? (TV has 4 HDMI ports all in use)

Yep, the sound will go from your devices, through your TV and will then be output to your soundbar via the optical cable.

Ordered one.
Will be my first soundbar so fingers crossed it goes well!

JUST managed to get in! Only 1 left as I type this.....

I've just been looking at the manual, so this soundbar transmits full HD and 3D! So I'm pretty sure I can have my TV connected to the Soundbar and my Youview box and my blu-ray also connected to the soundbar as the manual mentions blu-ray connected specifically. So no switching around. It's too big for my little TV but was chuffed when I saw this last night. I only didn't buy it due to size when it was £100 on curry's but £55 I can live with it.

Just had the last one, OoS now!

Have a look at the manual (see links above) it mentions you can also connect your blu-ray direct to the soundbar as it has full HD and 3D capability so you can free up a port that way.

All sold - was just about to get one too

Nice deal spotted it a couple of days ago as I was looking for a cheap soundbar.

Here is a nice little presentation of the soundbar in action:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzfYCk8BaMc

btw if your TV has HDMI ARC then you simply need to feed everything into your TV and it will play the audio from whatever device you are viewing via the soundbar. Not so sure about the older Sky boxes that can't handle audio and video via HDMI ...

Ahh just as I clicked confirm payment it went OOS.

Expired - shame it looked pretty good.

Dam just to late
